Each market day is the result of hundreds of people coming together to create a stronger community 🤝 It’s and we’d like to shine a light on some of the stars that make MCFM happen each week:

🌟 the staff who set up and tear down the market each week, answer your questions, process and distribute SNAP/EBT matching funds, facilitate free at-market programs and buy leftover produce from our farmers for free redistribution in Cedar Riverside

🌟 the vendors who dedicate countless hours of planning and hard work ahead of each market day, awake by 3 or 4am that morning to bring you the freshest and most flavorful products that they can

🌟 the volunteers who help us maintain a zero waste marketplace by educating customers about recyclables and compostables (together we divert 90% of all market waste from the landfill)

🌟 the customers — without YOU, we wouldn’t be able to maintain a viable storefront for over 115 small local businesses! Your ongoing support creates a space for small businesses to grow and thrive and creates a more connected, vibrant community in return. THANK YOU!

Over the past several years, we’ve invited you to return your empty glass bottles in exchange for a small discount on future purchases — a simple, shared effort to keep materials in circulation and out of the waste stream.

And you showed up.

To date, we’ve collected over 200 bottles, each one cleaned, sanitized, repurposed, and given a second life. The majority of our product is now made using that reclaimed glassware — a quiet reminder that sustainability isn’t a trend for us, it’s a practice we build together.
