Cadence Schueler (she/her) is bringing a new sliding scale Somatic Movement practice to the classroom!

ABOUT SOMATIC MOVEMENT
Somatic movement as a practice assists you in identifying where emotions are living in your physical body. Somatic techniques are effective at addressing buried emotions, chronic tension, and helping us learn to notice what we are experiencing.

In this one hour class, you will experience gentle movement, connection to your breath, and will learn how to invite the sensation of softening and rest into your mind and body. You will leave feeling your nervous system has received a loving embrace.

Half of the class time will be delegated to movement while the other half will be focused on stillness and creating presence in the body.

ABOUT CADENCE
Cadence Schueler is a Registered Yoga Teacher trained mainly in guiding meditation, Iyengar Asana, and Soma Yoga. She sees yoga as not only an incredible life-expanding ancient healing modality, but also a necessity for maintaining community in our isolated modern lives.

Cadence is deeply inspired by the opportunity to bring people closer to themselves and each other through group presence. She believes true healing is not a goal you achieve. It comes from the willingness to sit with what hurts, move with it, befriend it, and come back to it when it hurts again. Feeling a little bit lighter each time.

DETAILS:
SOMATIC MOVEMENT WITH CADENCE SCHUELER
🗓️Oct 12, Nov 19, Dec 16

First up: next week, we’ve got the new moon and Shannon will guide you through a practice with intention-setting for new beginnings. Then near the end of the month (Halloween week, witches!), Amy will bring the playlist and tarot practice perfect for the full moon vibes.

WHAT TO BRING: Dress in layers to support your comfort. There are enough yoga mats and blankets for everyone. However, you are welcome to bring additional supplies (more blankets, your favorite eye pillow, etc) that make you feel most comfortable and at ease. A journal is also a lovely addition to jot down your thoughts!

FYI: You’ll be lying down on the floor for most of the session, with gentle guidance to begin and close.

Classes are $45 per attendee. Use the code ACCESS for 50% off if finances are a barrier to booking.

We are not separate from the world around us; we are of it. Spending time outside is a way to connect with and absorb the qi of the earth and the sky, a practice that helps to stabilize and build the qi within us.

Even 5 minutes surrounded by greenery, fresh air, and sunlight can make a difference.

No matter where you are, take a moment to step outside, breathe deeply, and feel your connection to the movement of qi around and within you. ☀️

In honor of the Harvest Full Moon (the first full moon of fall!) and the official start of autumn with the equinox this week, here’s a round up of some of our favorite summer moments in nature from our staff (no charge to our followers for the free foot pic 😆).

✨Virginia catching the sunset at Lake Nokomis during the summer solstice
✨Lake Superior at the Split Rock River on a foggy day from Nathalie
✨The power and majesty of a waterfall captured by Kim
✨Bleeding hearts from Virginia’s mom’s garden
✨A lovely view of a park near Amy’s house on an early morning dew covered walk
✨Flowers from Kim’s garden
✨Sunset lake views up at a cabin from Helen
✨Amy’s Juni enjoying a paddle board ride on the lake
✨The beach at Bde Maka Ska as a celebration with Keith’s friends before they moved to Australia
✨Leah spotting a daredevil turkey scaling a railroad bridge over Broadway - and how this magnificent beings actions were reflecting the delicate balancing act that many of us are engaged in - managing the stress and violence of the world while trying to take care of our self and others
✨Steph canoeing the St. Croix this summer! Being on the peaceful rocking river in complete silence except for the wind blow, the birds chirping, and an occasional splash. A wonderful reminder to slow down - float and trust the water - and to find quiet to reset and restore.

✨Exciting renovation project news! ✨After planting some roots in the clinic over the last handful of years, we’re doing a little updating with a construction project to the lobby area!

Construction starts today, so there will be no appointments all day today (Thursday) and half day tomorrow morning (Friday) as the clinic will be closed to in-person patients. However, our amazing front desk assistants will be available for calls and emails both days. Give us a holler!

While we are striving to make things as easy and streamlined as possible, we appreciate any flexibility with any post-construction needs as we finish up with tasks, like painting and rearranging.

And we’re excited to share the new look soooooon! 😁

Carrie Nelson is back in the Constellation Classroom this month on Friday to bring the rich soundscape of the gong and to help us usher in the season of metal for autumn.

🍂 The gentle vibrations of the gong help us circulate and release that which we no longer need to carry. 🍂

Are you a little “gong-hesitant”?? We get it and let us put you at ease: a gong bath is not just banging on the gong. There are different mallets and techniques to coaxing sound out of this ancient and rich instrument. Sometimes it sounds like orca whale songs, sometimes it sounds like outer space, sometimes it sounds like a shimmering lake, and sometimes it sounds like the crash of a wave.

Carrie will create an experience with different variances in tone and pace with the gong but also with a few other instruments, like singing bowls, chimes, and the shrutibox, so rest assured, it’s not too much of one thing.

You’ll rest comfortably on a mat, supported by blankets, pillows, and an eye mask. You can position yourself in the room to adjust for sound level and you always have agency to leave the room or take a break if you feel overstimulated.

Yoga mats, blankets, small bolsters, and eye coverings are provided. Bring any additional comforts that your body may need such as a pillow.

No experience necessary. Just come as you are.

Meet Kelsey, one of our newest massage therapists!

Kelsey (they/them, she/her, he/him) received their Diploma in Massage Therapy from Minnesota State Community and Technical College Wadena, where they learned Swedish/relaxation, deep tissue, sports, geriatric, and prenatal massage techniques.

Kelsey loves working with anyone with a body, and they enjoy supporting working class laborers with physical jobs. Their specialties include sciatic pain, back pain, tech neck, TMJ, headaches and migraines, carpal tunnel syndrome, and sports rehab.

Kelsey understands the interconnectedness of the body and the different pain referral patterns that manifest as trigger points and knots. Pairing intentional movement with gentle stretching and range of motion techniques, massage sessions with Kelsey are designed to relax and restore for long-term benefits.

Through a combination of intuition, skillful practice, and communication, Kelsey works with clients to help reach treatment goals and restore balance to the body and mind.

Kelsey will be offering 60 and 90 minute Relaxation and Deep Tissue massages with appointments available starting October 4, 2026!
