YMCA Twin Cities

You can tell a kid they’re capable. You can also give them a moment to discover it. On October 24, that moment could be waiting at Resilinator.

Join YMCA of the North at Hyland Lake Park Reserve for a 2.5-mile adventure packed with obstacles, teamwork and reasons to keep going. With a buddy beside them and a tether connecting them, kids get to practice what life asks of all of us: try, adapt and work through the hard parts together.

Give them an adventure worth saying “I did it” about. Life gets tough. Together, we get tougher.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Merilee, a beloved member of our YMCA family and a true Y Icon. Merilee passed away on August 1, leaving a legacy of kindness, compassion, and more than 30 years of service to the Y.

Beginning in 1992, Merilee dedicated more than 30 years to the YMCA, touching countless lives through her kindness, compassion, and commitment to our mission. Her warmth and encouragement helped make the Y a place where people felt welcome and connected.

On September 14, the Woodbury YMCA held “Merilee Day,” bringing her Group X community together to celebrate her life in true Merilee fashion - with costumes, cake, treats, and a special Boot Camp in her honor.

The community also created a “Merilee Tree” filled with Acts of Kindness to carry forward the joy and care she shared with so many. It was a meaningful way to remember Merilee and keep her spirit of kindness growing.

Our hearts are with Merilee’s family, friends, and everyone whose life she touched.

If Merilee made a difference in your life, we’d love to hear your story. Share your favorite memories, photos, or words of remembrance in the comments as we celebrate her lasting legacy.

Thank you, Merilee, for more than three decades of compassion, dedication, and joy. You will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

The Hudson YMCA recently received a $50,000 grant from Lowe's to refurbish its skatepark, creating a new space for the community to enjoy.

Yesterday, Lowe's employees joined YMCA staff to help demolish the existing ramps and clear the way for what's next. It's exciting to see this project get underway!

Yesterday, the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation Midway YMCA celebrated 10 years in its current building with a block party!

Families and members enjoyed yard games, food trucks and a special visit from St. Paul Fire.

Shoutout to our Forest Lake YMCA Membership Team for leading YMCA of the North in membership sales this July!

Special thanks to Dawn and Jennifer for their dedication, positive energy, and commitment to helping people find their place at the Y. 💙

To all our new members - welcome to the YMCA community!

A beautiful day and full bike racks - a sure sign school is back in session! We love welcoming students to the Y for their afternoon!
