Watching this video back, I kept trying to figure out what that joy reminded me of, and then it hit me.
Christmas morning. š„¹
I remember the Christmas my mother got me and my sisters our first Cabbage Patch dolls. Y'all remember how BIG those dolls were back then?! Everybody wanted one.
My mother had hidden ours in the attic. She could barely afford them, but somehow, some way, she made it her business to make sure her girls had one.
And I remember the JOY.
That little girl on Christmas morning is exactly who you see in this video.
That is what opening my first brick-and-mortar Nature's Syrup Beauty store felt like.
Pure. Unfiltered. JOY.
After all the years of building, believing, sacrificing, figuring it out, starting with what I had, and continuing even when I couldn't fully see where this journey was taking me, I walked into something I once could only dream about.
And just like my mother made a way for her girls all those years ago, I realize I've spent years making a way for this dream.
When that ribbon was cut, I wasn't thinking about the hard days. I wasn't thinking about what it took to get there.
I was just HAPPY.

There are moments you dream about for years, and then one day, you're standing in the middle of them.
This week, I watched people fill a store that once only existed in my imagination.
Nine years ago, Nature's Syrup Beauty was born at my kitchen table. Every market, every late night, every setback, every customer who believed in this vision helped lead to this moment.
Walking through our Grand Opening, seeing hugs exchanged, hearing laughter, watching people discover our products for the first time. It reminded me that businesses don't grow because of one person. They grow because a community decides they're worth believing in.

There was a time when I was sitting at my kitchen table, handwriting labels, and so many of you were right there with me. You believed in this dream long before I could fully see where it would lead.
Now, in less than 48 hours, weāre opening the doors to our very first retail store in downtown Minneapolis.

We're excited to announce that Nature's Syrup Beauty will open its first brick-and-mortar store in downtown Minneapolis.
Founded by De'Vonna Pittman, Nature's Syrup Beauty creates plant-based hair care products designed for curls, coils, and textured hair. What started as hand-crafted formulas made in her kitchen has grown into a brand focused on helping people embrace their natural hair with confidence.
Nature's Syrup Beauty is part of the Chameleon Shoppes program, an initiative launched by the Minneapolis Downtown Council and Downtown Improvement District in partnership with the Chameleon Consortium to transform vacant downtown storefronts into opportunities for local entrepreneurs.
