A little behind the scenes of the Sculpt & Lift Milk Serum.

I was up at about in ten wee hours working on the first batch for sale, and I must say, everytime I make this milk serum it reminds me of why I feell inlove with it in the first place. Besides what it’s been doing for my skin I particularly adore the texture. It’s beautifully silky, lightweight and hydrating.

As usual, yesterday I spent much of the day reaching for it, paying attention to how it applied and felt on my skin as the formulation settled. By evening, I was using it beneath my Saffron Sculpt Night Elixir, which is how I enjoy incorporating it into my night routine.

Ceramides, ginseng and rosehip are among the ingredients I’ve enjoyed working with in my skincare formulations, and I love how this serum feels on the skin.

For me the excitement is not necessarily the end product.

It’s the beginnings of an idea but mostly, the initial research and education stage and the subsequent attempts of bringing it to life.

I love it when my mind and heart and body are at peace with one another….. and this is the one place where all that happens…. By my kitchen table 💡

And you know it’s a normal thing ukufingi ntshiyezi grumbi’ migca. We are trying to maintain our good skin not erase all signs of being human and the human experience on our outer casing.

During this routine you will see that I use the day cream at night as well and that’s a very important step for me because I like the additional protective layer it provides and also the double dosing up on the ceramide and ginseng extracts at night that I’d only get daytime otherwise.

So when I use my oil at night, I follow it with my moisturiser because I want that the occlusive ingredients to help reduce moisture loss and maintain hydration, while the oils and other ingredients continue doing what they’re formulated to do. I’m not trying to make everything absorb faster. I’m creating a more supportive environment for my skin overnight.

I’ll be doing more of these videos focusing on the use and benefits of each product…..

I sometimes wonder whether you enjoy seeing this part of Silk & Crown as much as I enjoy doing it.

The formulation work is done, the texture has come together beautifully, and now it’s just me, a bowl of freshly whipped product and a little time spent filling jars.

I love this part.

It’s not particularly glamorous. There are utensils everywhere, things to clean afterwards and a fair amount of standing on my feet. 😂

But I do enjoy these quieter moments when I get to work with my hands and see something I’ve spent time creating finally come together.

Just a little glimpse of what happens on this side before the pretty packaging and parcels arrive at your door. 🤎

Replying to so I think that saying ADHD is a superpower is more nuanced than a literal interpretation of the term because one who has lived with ADHD typically has suffered a lot of uncertainty because of lack of knowledge and understanding of the kind of system their mind operates under. And often this feels like a disability because it is so disempowering, example, the fact that I seemed to “lack the discipline” to follow through on a lot of the things people typically have no trouble following through on or committing to.
So in many instances it felt like failure was inevitable or fated and I don’t know if you are familiar with the anxiety of that feeling of “impending doom” even when you are doing well.

But once the understanding of and the connection to ADHD is made at the very least it brings light to the WHY and at it’s optimal level allows you or helps you to build your life around your own capacity and uniqueness. At least, this is the impact the diagnosis had in my life over time.
