If you've been here a while, you'll remember our old look. Clean, clinical and, honestly, a little bit boring. It looked like skincare, but it didn't look like us.

The truth is, breakouts are frustrating, and the last thing you need is a brand that talks to you like a textbook. So we gave ourselves permission to have some fun. New names, bold colours, and packaging art by local artists that adds that little magic.

What hasn't changed is the serious part. Our products are still formulated, made and packed in South Africa, in a SAHPRA-registered facility, with honest ingredients.

Same Not Just Skincare. Just a lot more us. 🧡🇿🇦

Yesterday our founders, Rene Opperman and Sunee M Flockhart, joined South Africa's top local brands at the annual Takealot Summit and officially kicked off the Takealot Made Local Challenge for Not Just Skincare! 🇿🇦🔥

A big thank you to Takealot, Heavy Chef and the for giving small local businesses a real chance to learn, grow and be seen. Building a brand in South Africa takes grit, and it means a lot to have people in your corner. 🙌

It was so good meeting everyone. To the other small businesses in the challenge, thank you for the stories, the advice and the instant friendships. This country is full of incredible people making incredible things, and we're proud to be in the room with you. 🧡

Zit Happens is on Takealot, and we're proudly in the top 20 of the Made Local Challenge. 🇿🇦 Every bottle you grab backs a South African brand.

And it's a new bottle. 👀 Zit Happens now comes in medical-grade brown glass. Our old aluminium bottle had a plastic lining that made it harder to recycle, so we made the switch. The pump is the last bit of plastic left, and it's next on our list.

Inside, it's an improved formula, made to ISO 22716, the international gold standard for cosmetic manufacturing. Same light foam, same clean rinse, same calm skin after.

Zit Happens, and this week it happened to land us in the top 20 of Takealot's Made Local Challenge! 💙 🥳

Being selected as one of 20 local manufacturers is recognition of what we've always stood for, skincare that's formulated, made and packed in South Africa, and made properly. 🇿🇦

We’re not where we want to be yet. But we are getting there.
