💛 WHY DO BLISTERS & SCABS HAPPEN AFTER LASER TATTOO REMOVAL?
If you notice blistering, redness, swelling or scabbing after your laser tattoo removal treatment, don’t panic! These can be normal reactions during the healing process, especially after your first treatment.
✨ WHY DOES IT HAPPEN?
The laser delivers energy into the tattoo pigment, causing the ink particles to break down. Your skin may respond with inflammation as it begins its natural healing process.
🔸 BLISTERS
Small blisters can form because the treated area has experienced controlled thermal injury. They are part of the body's healing response and usually settle as the skin repairs itself.
🔸 SCABS
As the treated skin heals, it may dry out and form a protective scab. Do not pick, scratch or peel it off — allow it to fall away naturally.
🔸 AFTER YOUR FIRST SESSION
Your first treatment may produce a more noticeable reaction because your skin has not experienced the laser before. The reaction can vary depending on the tattoo's colour, depth, density, age and your individual skin response.
💚 IMPORTANT:
A stronger-looking reaction does not necessarily mean better tattoo removal. Healing is an important part of the process.
AFTERCARE MATTERS
✔️ Keep the area clean and follow your therapist's aftercare instructions
✔️ Keep blisters intact where possible
✔️ Don't pick or scratch scabs
✔️ Avoid unnecessary sun exposure
✔️ Don't apply products that haven't been recommended for the treated area
Your skin needs time to heal between treatments. Tattoo removal is a process — results happen gradually as your body clears the fragmented pigment.
