🚨🚨“MK MP Alleges Bribery Attempt in Parliamentary Probe of Crime Intelligence”🚨🚨

MK Party MP Vusi Shongwe has alleged he was offered a R2.2 million-a-month security tender, R10 million in cash, or three bulletproof vehicles to cease questioning suspended Crime Intelligence deputy head Maj-Gen Feroz Khan.

The allegation, made in the context of Parliament’s ad hoc committee on security-sector infiltration, has not been tested in court and all parties are presumed innocent.

Shongwe’s claim emerges as Khan faces multiple legal and institutional pressures. In May 2025 he was arrested on charges related to precious metals and placed on suspension. The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, established by President Cyril Ramaphosa to investigate criminal pe*******on of the security cluster, has received an affidavit alleging Khan’s involvement in a R280 million National Treasury IT contract and potential kickbacks totalling about R92.4 million.

Security risks to committee members have already been flagged. In November 2025, MK Party Chief Whip Colleen Makhubele reported that Shongwe was abducted, had three phones confiscated, and was coerced into a payment. She urged the Speaker to expedite enhanced security for committee members.

The developments place further focus on oversight of SAPS procurement and the safety of Parliament’s accountability structures. Neither SAPS nor Khan’s legal team had commented on the bribery allegation at the time of Publication
