Established in 1974, JEM Cutters supply and manufacturer the most comprehensive range of specialist cake decorating equipment and quality sugar craft in South Africa. Inspired by his wife’s struggles with old fashioned metal cutters, the company was started by Neil Maytham more than 40 years ago in their garage. As an experienced engineer, it was here that he leveraged his technical background and innovative thinking to create original and practical plastic cutters for cake decorating ethusiasts. It wasn’t long before the company began to expand, in both size and variety, to include the manufacture of other solutions, such as sugar flower sprays and other hand made sugar decorations. Situated just outside Durban, South Africa, the company was bought by Knightsbridge PME, an internationally recognized cake decorating company based in the United Kingdom, in 2011 and renamed JEM SA. Dedicated to furthering the art of cake decorating, the amalgamation adds another level of expertise to the mix that ensures JEM SA’s ongoing quality and innovation of design.
