Wellness Wednesday 🌿
What if some of the best medicine doesn't come in a bottle?

🥗 Food can nourish us.

🚶🏾‍♀️ Movement can release tension.

😴 Sleep can restore us.

✍🏾 Journaling can help us process what we're carrying.

☀️ Sunlight and nature can help us reconnect.

🎶 Music can lift us.

🎨 Art can inspire us.

✈️ Travel can give us a new perspective.

❤️ And self-love can remind us that we're worthy of our own care.

Wellness isn't one big, dramatic thing.
Often, it's the small things we practice consistently that help us navigate the stress of everyday life.

Over the next few weeks in my Radiant & Rooted newsletter, I'll be exploring practical, accessible ways to help our minds and bodies release stress and make restoration part of everyday life.
Because sometimes medicine looks a lot like living well. 🌿

Want to come along?

💌 Type CIRCLE in the comments and I'll DM you the link to join my weekly newsletter. You can also sign up through the link in my bio.

💬 And tell me: What does “medicine” look like in your life right now?

The tomatoes, spices, and cooking method help minimize the slimy texture, leaving you with a rich, hearty, and incredibly flavorful stew that's packed with plant-powered nutrition.

Even if you've sworn off okra in the past, this recipe deserves a second chance. Sometimes it's not the ingredient we dislike... it's the way it's prepared. 💚

Summer in the City: Chicago ☀️📸 | Episode 2

I came to Chicago expecting to discover great vegan food.

What I didn't expect was to be inspired by two incredible photographers who completely challenged my assumptions about aging.

People often expect older adults to slow down.
Not these two.

They celebrated the 70th anniversary of Chicago's oldest African American camera club by day.....then headed downtown that night for a photography shoot along the Chicago River.

The adventures didn't stop there. They took me to the Chicago Botanic Garden, where I had the chance to practice macro photography, and to a butterfly conservatory that felt like stepping into a storybook.

Their curiosity, creativity, and joy were absolutely contagious.

Wanting to return the favor, I invited these meat eaters to a vegan restaurant.

One enjoyed a delicious buffalo cauliflower bowl.
The other was a little less enthused..

But it’s all good! ☺️
Not every meal has to change someone's mind.
Sometimes sharing the experience is enough.

I left Chicago with far more than beautiful photographs.
I left with a new perspective on aging.
To me, aging gracefully isn't about trying to stay young.
It's about staying curious.
Continuing to learn.
Being willing to try something new.
And surrounding yourself with people who inspire you to keep growing.

💛 What does aging gracefully mean to you?

I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

I should do a series called, “Foods I hated as a child but can now tolerate.”
What would make your list? 🧐
