While many people don’t mean any harm by it, the term masseuse has become outdated and is often considered offensive within the profession because it has historically been associated with sexualized stereotypes rather than healthcare. Licensed professionals spend hundreds of hours in education, pass state licensing requirements, and are trained in anatomy, physiology, pain management, and therapeutic techniques.

The correct terms are Massage Therapist or Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT). 💙
