When used heavily or left on the hair overnight, coconut oil can reduce the hair’s ability to take on water because of its hydrophobic properties. And since hydration = water, that can sometimes leave curls feeling dry, stiff or coated rather than hydrated.

I’ve seen some new faces around here, so I thought it was time for a little introduction!

I’m Nicole, your Central Florida curl specialist and the face behind Curls Amore. ✨

I’ve been behind the chair for 11 years, but my own curl journey really began around 2017 when I decided to finally embrace my natural texture. And trust me… I understand the curly hair struggle firsthand. 😅 From learning what my curls actually needed to unlearning everything I thought I knew about curly hair, that journey completely changed the direction of my career.

In 2020, Curls Amore was born. What felt like such an uncertain time ended up leading me exactly where I was meant to be. 🥹

Since then, helping others understand, embrace, and fall in love with their natural texture has become one of my greatest passions.
