Evergreen Skin Studio
20+ years in the treatment room. Holistic skin strategies. Expert brows. Coaching aestheticians to build aligned, thriving businesses-inside and out.
I first decided to become an aesthetician for one reason:
I had bad skin. That was in 2005…
I struggled with acne, hyperpigmentation, redness and very reactive skin. I learned along the way that there is a whole lot more to having healthy skin than just buying the right moisturizer or serum. Once I started taking care of my skin from the inside as well as the outside, things really started to change for the better. The best part, is the results are sustainable, they don’t go away! I studied over 100 different dietary theories at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in 2013 to become an IIN® Health Coach and in 2020 became a Certified Nutritional Aesthetics® Provider to further incorporate holistic elements into my aesthetic practice. I enjoy educating clients on all things skin and I’ve since added blogging about clean beauty and skincare as part of my professional offerings. In my down time you’ll find me hanging out with my family and dogs, watching movies, doing crafty stuff, reading, cooking and gardening!

Maybe not every problem, but you’d be surprised 😎

When someone comes to me with acne, my first instinct isn’t necessarily to exfoliate more.
Sometimes it’s actually the opposite.
In Ashley’s case, her skin had already been through aggressive acne treatments and her barrier needed support.
So instead of continually trying to “dry up” or exfoliate away the problem, we focused on creating an environment where her skin could function better.
That meant looking at the whole picture: her barrier, inflammation, hydration, home care and how her skin responded from one appointment to the next.
Did we still use treatments designed to improve acne, texture and post-breakout marks? Absolutely.
But we earned the right to do more by first getting her skin into a healthier place.
That’s a big part of how I approach problem-solving at Evergreen: I treat the skin that’s actually in front of me, not just the condition written on the intake form

This is Ashley. And there’s much more to these photos than a before and after.
When we started working together, her skin was dealing with acne—but it was also dealing with the aftermath of trying to treat that acne aggressively.
That distinction mattered.
Instead of looking at her skin and simply asking, “How do we get rid of the breakouts?” I wanted to know what her skin had been through, what she was using at home, how it responded to treatment and what might be keeping it stuck in a cycle of inflammation.
Over time, we changed the way we approached her skin.
And I asked Ashley to share some of her experience in her own words because I think her perspective is just as important as mine.
Swipe through to read what she had to say. 🤍
Individual results vary, and every acne journey is different.
Fall is a great time to make a few changes to your skincare but your skin probably doesn’t need a dramatic “reset.”
As the weather changes, you may notice more dryness, sensitivity or dullness. And while fall can be a great time to bring back more exfoliation or treatments we may have backed away from during summer, more isn’t always better.
I’d rather look at what your skin is doing right now and adjust accordingly.
Maybe that means a little more exfoliation. Maybe it means more hydration and barrier support. And sometimes it means leaving a good routine alone.
Healthy skin isn’t about constantly starting over with the seasons. It’s about learning how to respond to what your skin actually needs.
That’s something I believe more strongly with every year I work with skin. 🍂

Not every peel has to leave you hiding at home.
My RDS Peel is designed to improve:
✓ texture
✓ brightness
✓ fine lines
✓ uneven tone
while respecting the skin barrier.
Most clients simply notice healthier, brighter skin over the next several days.
My Pumpkin Lactic Facial combines gentle exfoliation with nourishing ingredients to leave skin feeling incredibly soft, hydrated and radiant.
It’s one of my favorite treatments for:
🍂 dull skin
🍂 dryness
🍂 rough texture
🍂 post-summer glow
No aggressive peeling.
Just smoother, healthier-looking skin.

Summer is wonderful…
but it often leaves behind a few reminders:
• uneven pigmentation
• rough texture
• dullness
• dehydration
That’s why fall is one of my favorite times for professional skin treatments.
It’s the perfect season to gently refresh your skin and encourage healthy renewal before the holidays arrive.
Over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing two of my favorite fall treatments that help restore your skin’s glow—without harsh recovery.

Is anyone else feeling a little protein pressure lately?
Especially after 50, we’re hearing that we need more protein for muscle, metabolism, healthy aging…and yes, our skin benefits from adequate protein too.
But it doesn’t have to become another number to obsess over.
Instead of asking, “Did I hit my protein goal today?” try asking, “Where could I add a little more protein to what I’m already eating?”
Greek yogurt at breakfast. Beans on a salad. A handful of nuts with your snack. Fish, chicken, eggs, lentils or tofu with a meal.
Small choices add up.
Your skin doesn’t need a perfect diet. It needs consistent nourishment over time.

Relaxation isn’t just a nice part of a facial, it can be part of supporting healthier skin. 🌿
Chronic stress keeps the body in a heightened state of alert, increasing stress hormones and inflammatory signaling that can show up in the skin as increased sensitivity, redness, breakouts, slower healing and a compromised barrier.
Creating space for the nervous system to settle is one reason I pay attention to the whole treatment environment: the music, warmth, touch, breathing room and unhurried pace of your facial.
When your body begins to shift out of “fight or flight” and into a more restful state, we’re supporting more than relaxation. We’re supporting the conditions your skin needs to function at its best.
So yes, the playlist matters. 🤍
Healthy skin is about more than what we put on it. Sometimes caring for your skin also means caring for your nervous system.

My herbal facial compress is one of the details I’ve been incorporating into the Evergreen Luxe Facial as I continue to refine and enhance the experience.
Infused with green tea and chamomile, the warm compress brings together two botanicals I love for the skin. Green tea is rich in antioxidants and helps calm the look of inflammation and redness, while chamomile is known for its soothing, comforting properties—especially welcome when skin is feeling stressed or reactive.
But there’s another reason I love this step: it feels wonderful.
The warmth, gentle pressure and herbal aroma create a moment of deep relaxation while giving the skin a little extra care.
Because Luxe isn’t just about doing more to the skin. It’s about choosing thoughtful enhancements that support both healthy skin and a restorative experience. 🌿
