We've thought about this moment a lot while getting the space ready. Every person who will walk through that door carrying something heavy, and every person who will walk back out a little lighter because they didn't carry it alone.

This is therapy. Helping you create the new vessel for who you’re becoming.

In Luke 5, Jesus makes a simple observation. Nobody pours new wine into old wineskins, because the new wine will stretch and burst them. New wine needs a new container built to hold what it's becoming.

It's a strange little image with a big application. Growth is not just about having more of something. It's about whether the structure around you can actually hold what's forming. Sometimes healing itself looks like this. You outgrow old coping patterns, old relationships, old ways of managing pain, and you need new containers built for who you're becoming, not who you used to be.

Whatever new thing is forming in you right now, it might need a new wineskin too. That's not failure. That's growth doing exactly what growth does.

Two weeks from today, we open the doors to Suite 920.

Same building. Same team. Same commitment to walking with you through the hard and holy parts of life. Just a little more room to do it well.

Nehemiah looked at the broken walls of Jerusalem and wept before he ever picked up a tool. Grief came first. Then he got to work, and he didn't do it alone. Nehemiah 4 tells us the people had a mind to work, each family repairing the section nearest their own home.

Rebuilding anything, a wall, a life, a sense of safety after trauma, is slower and less glamorous than the destruction that came before it. There's no dramatic moment where it's suddenly finished. There's just showing up, section by section, alongside people who are rebuilding too.

If you're in a season of rebuilding something that broke, you don't have to do it with speed. You just have to keep showing up to your section of the wall. We'll show up with you, sword and hammer at the ready.

I want to share something personal with you all.

Almost a year ago, I applied to become an adjunct professor at City Vision University. I sent in my resume, and then...nothing. Crickets. No response. Enough time passed that I genuinely forgot I'd applied. How many of y’all know God doesn’t forget, though?

Right after signing the expansion lease on our new office space, I got an email. They'd reviewed my application and wanted to interview me…. within the week! Now keep in mind that I was already planning the move, posting to seek and interview new staff, plus two other BIG things I haven’t shared yet…You know, not busy at all…

So, I'll be honest, I was stunned. I had complex thoughts of, “Oh, Lord, please help!” and “Yay!! Thank you, God!” and everything else in between.
I've spent the last four years teaching here locally and regionally (and even in Italy!), and every bit of it has mattered to me deeply. I’m from here. I grew up here, graduated here, raised my family here, and continue to live my life here. My community matters deeply to me. So getting to be a part of helping Wichita Falls to heal and grow and learn is the best thing ever!

I've come to believe seasons often move this way. There's a long stretch of building, showing up, staying faithful to what's already in front of you, long before you can see where it's leading. And then, sometimes unexpectedly, God moves in a way that you know is anointing and overflow. That’s not because the earlier season wasn't enough on its own, but because faithfulness has a way of preparing us for what comes next.

I was offered and accepted the position to teach. Next week, I'll begin teaching my first class at City Vision University as an adjunct professor. I’ll be a part of raising up the next generation of counselors committed to serving the most vulnerable and hurting. Those that desperately need light in their darkest places.

I'm honored. I'm grateful. And I believe this is only one part of what this season is holding. There's more I'll be sharing as it unfolds, a little at a time.

Now to my clients that may be wondering what this means for you…nothing changes. I’ll keep showing up for you as long as you keep showing up, too. I love the session room and am not leaving it! The key word for this season in my life is expansion…not subtraction.

Thank you for letting me share this part of my story. And thank you for going with me with your prayers and encouragement. There really is light in the darkest places, y’all.

School starts here this upcoming week! If your house hasn't shifted into the new rhythm yet, this is the week to start.

Not all at once. Just small resets. Bedtime ten minutes earlier. Backpacks by the door. A few minutes of quiet before the morning rush becomes real.

Bodies do better with a runway than a cliff edge. The same is true for the adults managing the transition, not just the kids living it. Give your family a few soft landings this week before the real thing hits.

You don't have to have it perfect by Thursday. You just have to start moving that direction.

Back to school season gets talked about like it's just logistics. New shoes. New folders. New bus schedule.

You're allowed to find this season disorienting even if nothing is technically wrong. Change costs something, even change you chose or expected.

Ahhhh!!! I can relate!! How about you? Is God asking you to go, without seeing the full picture? Trust Him. Just go.

God's instruction to Abram in Genesis 12 is almost startling in how little it explains.

Leave your country.
Leave your people.
Leave your father's household.
Go to a land I will show you.

Not a land I have already shown you. A land I will show you. Abram said yes before he had the details. That is not the same as saying yes because he had no fear. Scripture doesn't tell us he wasn't afraid.

It tells us he went anyway.

Change asks something similar of us. It rarely hands over the whole picture before asking for trust.

Whether it's a new season, a new space, a new version of yourself you're growing into, the invitation is usually the same one Abram got.
