Healing takes time, and this is what that process can look like.
After an upper blepharoplasty (upper eyelid surgery), the incision can initially appear pink, red, raised, or more noticeable than you expected. As the scar matures, it typically becomes softer, flatter, and less visible over time
And because the incision is placed within the natural crease of the upper eyelid, the goal is for the mature scar to blend into the anatomy of the eyelid rather than becoming a noticeable feature.
The important part? Don’t judge your final result by an early stage of healing. Every patient heals differently, and scar maturation can take months. Your surgeon’s aftercare instructions, and patience, matter.
