A little appreciation post for my clients...

I just want to take a minute to say thank you to every single one of my clients who has continued to stand behind me, support me, and most importantly, show me grace during a really hard season of my life.

I’m not going to sugarcoat it. My mental health has taken a major hit lately. Life has been extremely heavy, and trying to balance my business, school, my kids, my marriage, my home, and everything else has caught up with me. There have been days when simply getting up and showing up has taken more out of me than anyone probably realizes.

I actually went to the doctor today because I knew I needed help getting myself back to a better place. I’m hopeful that from here forward, things will start getting a little easier and I’ll start feeling more like myself again.

And even those of you who haven’t said anything, I know you’ve probably noticed a difference in me. Maybe I haven’t been as talkative, as energetic, as present, or as much of myself as I normally am. Thank you for giving me grace anyway. Thank you for continuing to sit in my chair and support me while I’ve been trying to find my way back to myself.

And to the clients who have chosen to leave during this season, I genuinely wish you the best. I’m sorry that I couldn’t be better for you or give you what you needed from me at the time. I don’t have any hard feelings. Sometimes people and circumstances just change.

After almost 17 years behind the chair, I know I’m human before I’m a hairstylist. I will always do my best to show up for my clients, but lately I’ve needed a little grace while I learn how to show up for myself again too.

For those of you who have stayed, checked on me, been patient when I’ve had to rearrange something, or simply continued showing up without making me feel like I needed to explain myself, thank you.

Thank you for supporting Hair by Dani, but even more importantly, thank you for caring about the person behind the chair.

Hopefully this is the beginning of getting back to the Dani you all know, and the Dani I know, too.

I’ve seen a LOT of posts lately bashing businesses for using AI in their advertising, and I genuinely don’t understand why this has become something people are so angry about.

I use AI for my business. Regularly. Sometimes almost daily.

Why? Because I’m a ONE-PERSON SHOW.

I’m the hairstylist. I’m the receptionist. I answer the messages. I schedule appointments. I order supplies. I keep up with inventory. I take pictures. I make posts. I advertise. I handle payments. I clean. I do the bookkeeping. I try to keep up with trends. And somewhere in between all of that, I’m also supposed to have a life outside of my business.

AI makes ONE part of that workload quicker and easier for me.

If I can take an idea I have in my head and use AI to help me create an advertisement in a few minutes instead of spending an hour making it myself, I’m going to do it. 😂

It doesn’t do my clients’ hair. It doesn’t replace my experience, education, creativity, or the work I physically do behind the chair. It’s simply a TOOL that saves me time.

Small business owners are already stretched thin trying to do the jobs of multiple people. If technology can make one of those jobs a little easier, I don’t see anything wrong with using it.

You absolutely don’t have to like AI. You don’t have to use it. And if you feel strongly enough about it, you’re free to choose where you spend your money.

But publicly bashing a small business simply because they used AI to make an advertisement? That seems absolutely ridiculous to me.

Maybe instead of looking for another reason to tear small businesses apart, we could put that energy into supporting them.

Because behind a lot of those “AI ads” is a very real, very tired human being just trying to run their business and make their life a little easier. 💜
