Microdosing Accutane” is all over TikTok right now — but let’s talk about what it actually means.
Low-dose isotretinoin is a real approach that dermatologists may use for certain acne patients. What I don’t love is social media making it sound like a casual skincare hack.
It’s still isotretinoin. It’s still a prescription medication. It still requires medical supervision, and taking a smaller dose doesn’t make those considerations disappear.
And here’s another piece I want my acne clients to understand: getting the active acne under control and correcting what acne leaves behind are not always the same job.
For many of my West Palm Beach and Palm Beach County clients with melanated skin, we may still be dealing with:
• post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
• dark spots
• uneven texture
• acne scarring
• rebuilding a consistent home routine
That’s where Corrective Season comes in.
If your acne is being medically managed but you’re still struggling with the pigmentation, texture, or routine afterward, we can build a corrective skincare plan around what your skin needs now.
In person: No Downtime Chemical Peel Series
Virtual: 90-Day Reset
DM “CORRECT” to get started.
And remember: decisions about isotretinoin belong between you and your dermatologist — not TikTok.
Blackheads around your forehead or hairline? Your skincare routine may not be the only thing contributing to them.
Edge control, oils, leave-ins, wig products, adhesives, sweat, and buildup around baby hairs can all sit close to the skin and contribute to clogged pores.
Blackheads form when oil, dead skin cells, and keratin build up inside a follicle and the opening remains exposed to air. That dark color is oxidation — not dirt.
And this is exactly what Corrective Season is about: figuring out why your skin keeps doing what it’s doing instead of constantly treating the symptom.
If congestion keeps returning, we need to look at your skincare routine, your hair products, what’s touching your skin, and whether your routine is actually supporting clear pores.
Professional extractions can remove what’s there, but the goal is keeping it from coming right back.
During Corrective Season, you can work with me two ways:
In person: No Downtime Chemical Peel Series
Virtual: 90-Day Reset for routine + product guidance
Comment BLACKHEADS if you want Part 2, or DM CORRECT if you’re ready for a corrective plan.
He told me his face was a mess… and from a distance, I honestly couldn’t really see it.
Once I got him on the table, under the light, and actually looked closely, I could see the congestion sitting underneath the surface.
What you’re seeing here is compacted material inside the follicle — oil, dead skin, and keratin. In the beard area, shaving, friction, hair growth, and ingrowns can make things even more complicated.
This is also why professional skin analysis matters. Your skin can look “fine” from across the room and still have congestion, texture, inflammation, or pigment that needs attention.
And with melanated skin, picking and squeezing can easily turn one clogged pore into a dark mark that hangs around much longer.
Comment CONGESTION if your skin looks fine from far away but you know something is going on underneath.

Corrective Season is officially here.
October is about getting intentional with your skin.

Clear skin in high school doesn’t guarantee clear skin forever. 😭
Adult acne can show up for the first time in your 20s, 30s, or later — and hormones, stress, genetics, products, medications, and other factors can all contribute.
One important distinction:
Hormonal acne = what may be driving it.
Cystic/nodular acne = how deep and inflammatory the breakout is.
And with skin of color, controlling the acne early matters because every inflammatory breakout can leave behind another dark mark.
Comment ADULT ACNE + tell me where your breakouts usually show up: jawline, cheeks, forehead, or everywhere.
A dark spot is usually your skin’s response to inflammation.
A breakout, ingrown hair, irritation, picking, or another injury can trigger extra pigment in that area — especially in skin of color.
That leftover pigment is called post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
So the goal isn’t just to fade the spot. We also have to address what keeps creating the inflammation in the first place.
Comment SPOTS if dark marks are one of your biggest skin concerns.
Men get acne, ingrowns, dark spots, and uneven tone too 👀
Our No Downtime Chemical Peel Series is designed to correct those concerns gradually without dramatic peeling.
Comment MEN if you want details on how the series works.
Your skincare routine doesn’t stop at your face.
When I’m working with corrective clients, I’m not only looking at what they’re putting on their skin. Gut health, nutrition, inflammation, lifestyle, and consistency can all be part of the bigger picture.
I personally like Green Vibrance as a way to support overall nutrition and digestion — not as an acne treatment or miracle cure.
The goal is always to support the skin from multiple angles while still using an intentional topical routine and corrective treatment plan.
Comment GUT if you want me to do more content on gut health, food, supplements, and how they may relate to the skin.
