1 min read: Not all clinical studies are created equal.

Just because something is labeled “clinically studied” doesn’t mean the research behind it is equally strong.

At HUM, we look beyond the headline and pay attention to how the research was actually conducted, aka prioritizing rigorous study designs and high-quality evidence whenever possible.

So, what does gold-standard clinical research actually look like?
    •    Randomized: People are randomly assigned to different groups, to reduce bias and make the results more reliable.

    •    Double-blind: Neither the people in the study nor the researchers know who’s getting the active ingredient or the placebo. This helps keep expectations from influencing results.

    •    Placebo-controlled: The active ingredient is compared to a placebo, helping researchers see whether the ingredient itself is making a difference.

    •    Peer-reviewed & published: Other experts review the research before it’s published, giving us another layer of confidence in the findings.

So next time you see “clinically studied,” look a little closer. It’s not just about whether there’s research, it’s about the quality of it.
