It’s really hard to not acknowledge how tough it is for so many people right now.
What’s really bothered me is what has happened to SNAP benefits this year. So far 5 million people including 1 million children have been taken off SNAP benefits and with changes starting this month work requirements are expected for able bodied people between the ages of 18-64 up from the age of 54. Jobs are hard to come by and people being affected are losing their benefits if they can’t find work. This is so broken because if you are working it should be a living wage so that SNAP isn’t needed.
I decided i wanted to help people affected. I can’t buy groceries for the country but I can do this.
Anyone affected by the SNAP changes can get a haircut for $1. I’ll have snacks and water available and a chance to have a small reprieve from everything. Its not enough right now but that’s where voting next month really comes into play.
