Five years of The Chair. 🤍
I’ve been trying to figure out how to put my feelings into words. I don’t think I fully can but I want you all to know what this night meant to me. 🥹
At 21 years old, I created The Chair, LLC. I had a dream, a whole lot of ambition, and probably more confidence in my big ideas than I had any business having. 😅 I knew I wanted to create a place where people felt comfortable, and cared for, but 21 year old me couldn’t have imagined everything The Chair has become, or just how much this salon means to me.

Now, five years later, nearly 100 people celebrated with me! My family, friends, and clients filled the place that has become such a huge part of my life. There was cake, food, drinks, give-away baskets, permanent jewelry, discounts, and a photo booth full of ridiculous props. There was so much laughter, so many hugs, and so many people packed into the place that I spent many nights imagining before it even existed. I am overwhelmed with gratitude and pride, by how many people showed up to celebrate something that started as a dream.

The people who have been here since the beginning, people who have watched me grow, people who have trusted me with their hair, supported my business, recommended me to friends, shared my posts, celebrated my wins, and picked me up on the hard days, you all mean more to me than you realize. You believed in me and brought my dreams to life. I felt that support in a way I’ll never forget.

For a moment I thought about the girl who sat in a salon chair years ago and said that what she wanted to be when she grew up was “pretty”, and the stylist who told that little girl she could do more than make people pretty, she could make them feel pretty too. I thought about that 21 year old who took a big leap and put everything on the line. This anniversary isn’t just five years of a business. It’s five years of a dream that became a reality. Five years of learning how to believe in myself. Five years of people believing in me. Five years of building a business where my clients can… feel pretty. 🤍

I’ve learned SO much in these five years, about business, hair, people, leadership, and most importantly, about myself. The Chair has grown and changed right alongside me. I’m so proud of all my hard work, and the woman I’ve become because of it. Now, exactly 5 years later, I am preparing to close on the purchase of the building next door! (Always more dreams!)

To everyone who has loved me, supported me, encouraged my ideas, helped me execute them, sat in my chair, shared my posts, referred friends, celebrated my wins, picked me up on the hard days, or simply continued to show up… With my whole heart ❤️ THANK YOU. Thank you for believing in me, supporting me, trusting me, and helping turn this crazy little dream into something so much bigger than I ever imagined. I hoped I could build something people loved. I know I did. Five years ago I started this huge dream… Five years later, I’m standing inside it… And somehow, we’re just getting started. 🤍
