Jared has a thriving passion for the hair industry and continues to make a lasting impression on the industry by establishing his own barbershop in the Capitol Hill area of Washington, DC. More than a decade ago, I set out to create more than just a barbershop. What started as a vision, it became his grooming. Every client that sat in my chair helped to shape what his grooming really is today.
I never wanted to stop being a great barber. I wanted to keep growing and elevate the entire grooming experience. Experience to me is something that is pivotal.
It’s something that sets you apart and I think sets a place apart and it’s something that has to be curated over time. I committed myself to learning, to becoming an educator and mentoring barbers and building systems that create consistent experience.
Today, his grooming has grown into one of the top places in Washington, D.C. I’m forever grateful to the people who have helped me to build, who are continuing to help me.
Over the past few months, we’ve worked so hard to make sure that our growth reflects the vision. We’ve expanded space and we’re including some new services, but also incorporating some old ones too. The expansion has allowed my exceptional friends and barbers, Amin and Samika, to work full time and continue growing in their community.
I’m so proud of how far that we’ve come, but I’m even more excited to tell you more about where we’re going. The next chapter of his grooming is here and I’m so glad that you are part of that.

We wanted you to know...
It's our belief at HIS Grooming that today's men deserve more than just a haircut. With that in mind, we're excited to announce some of our new plans for HIS Grooming. We are officially breaking ground and redesigning our current space at HIS Grooming 1242 Pennsylvania Ave, SE, DC 20003!
HIS Grooming will be renovated and remodeled to accommodate a more inclusive experience. Our owner Jared Scott has plenty he’s been up to, he is continuing to help shape our industry as a member of the DC Board of Barbering and Cosmetology as well as a Top Artist for the Wella Barber Team. (A team of incredibly talented educators from North America that travel educating salons and barbershops, creating content for photo shoots and video shoots, as well as Jared’s most recent Project Co-creating a Barbering curriculum for the Wella company. This curriculum will be taught all over the US and possibly further.)
As Jared is led to set the vision for HIS Grooming, he states that “Artists desire autonomy and individuality while still being able to rest on a solid foundation.
They desire the freedom to make mistakes within reason on their individual yet collective pursuit of creativity.” With that in mind HIS Grooming will be modifying a few things in the location that will allow us to stay ahead of the industry. We will be creating more individual space for more artistry. We are looking to maximize full utilization of our space and desire to partner with some of the best artists in our area.
The new experience will consist of the following:
Appointments
Each service will be extended 10-15 mins (to ensure a high-quality experience)
Semecka (Senior Stylist) will have limited availability for the month of October and November
Renovation
Space will be going through a transition of remodeling for the week of 10/10/2022-10/16/2022 because of the construction being done we just ask for your patience as space will not be in its previous form (we will still be delivering our amazing cuts)
New look
Will consist of a new bathroom, private barber suite, and designed perfectly for a HIS Grooming experience.

Basic steps for a good newsletter
Step 1: Audience and Topic
The first thing you should do is consider your audience and pick a topic that will connect with them. Something personal and relevant to your business is always good.
Step 2: Proofreading
Next, make sure your content is accurate. If you’re discussing a particular topic, don’t be afraid to reference your sources. It builds credibility with your audience. Proofreading everything is also critical. Don’t just check for grammar errors, but review the language you use for consistency of tone and voice.
Step 3: Call-to-Action
Finally, include a call-to-action, either a link to your website or social media page, or some additional reading. You’ve got your customers attention, so take advantage of it.

A team is forming of spectacular individuals with unimaginable talents and expertise. You will be chosen and placed in silence for over a year, during this time you will write, rewrite and formulate an expert level curriculum for everyone man, woman, or child to be educated on on all hair types and styles ranging in the curly/coily genre. It is your mission to bring forth the BARBER pillar of Curl Craft for the Company.
