Dairy of a deep thinker š
You know whatās crazy? We think our biggest problem is how someone else made us feel. But I donāt think it is. I think our biggest problem is becoming someone we donāt respect or can sit with.
Every reaction you have today becomes aftermath for you to sit with. And⦠some of those memories can become regret.
Regret isnāt something you feel in the moment, honestly most of times not even right after... but itās a bill your future self has to pay. And boy do they come knocking.. Itās the text you wish you never sent. The relationship you burned because your ego wanted to win. The apology you never gave. The thing you said and shouldnāt have.. The person you became because being right felt easier than deeply thinking about the truth.
Iāve watched people carry regret for years. And it hardens them. They become angry. Bitter. They numb it. Sometimes with alcohol. Sometimes by blaming everyone else. Sometimes by convincing themselves they never cared in the first place. Running away..
Thatās why I always try to ask myself one question: āWill tomorrowās version of me be proud of how I handled this?ā
Because itās usually harder to pause. Itās harder to have grace. Itās harder to apologize. Itās harder to respond with good intentions instead of your ego. But thatās the version of you that gets to lay your head on the pillow at night without regret or questions.
Winning the argument, protecting yourself, feeling big lasts five minutes. Living with who you became lasts a lifetime.

Part artist, part wedding guest. Bozemen looked good on us š¤ ā°ļø
I went to Women in Business Academy thinking Iād come home with a new strategy. Instead, I came home with an entirely new perspective. I expected pages of notes, business ideas, and tactical takeaways. And I got all of that.
Emily Frisella on the sea of āsamenessā.. that most businesses donāt have a quality problem, they have a memorability problem. Looking around can cost you. Cody Grandadam, begging for jobs before he got into 100,000 stores. Brittni telling us refine our internal self, you donāt take things off your plate. You build the capacity to hold them. Andrea, 25 locations. No investors. Leading from her heart first. Every speaker challenged the way I think about business. But the biggest takeaway had nothing to do with strategy.
It was sitting in rooms with women from completely different industries, at completely different stages, and realizing weāre all carrying the same fears.
Iāve dealt with impostor syndrome my entire career. Fourteen years. A studio. An incredible team. Multiple millions in revenue. A business Iām deeply proud of.
And I still walked into that conference wondering if I belonged there. Some of the women in that room were making hundreds of thousands. Others were making millions. Some had teams of hundreds. Some were just getting started.
The crazy part?
The conversations sounded almost identical. We all questioned ourselves. We all wondered if we were making the right decisions. We all felt behind. We all had moments where we wanted to quit.
The difference wasnāt talent. It wasnāt luck. It wasnāt confidence.
The people who had built the businesses I admired had simply stayed in the discomfort longer than the people who gave up. Success isnāt reserved for a certain type of person. It isnāt for the loudest, the smartest, or the most naturally gifted. Itās for the people willing to keep showing up when it feels uncomfortable, uncertain, or slow.
I walked into WIB hoping for a better business strategy, walked out with a different belief system. Maybe youāre not behind. Maybe youāve just been talking yourself out of rooms you were always qualified to be in.
Things I canāt answer in one DMā¦
I wish makeup had one simple solution⦠but it almost never does.
When someone asks me, āWhy doesnāt my makeup last?ā I canāt honestly recommend a foundation, brush, primer, or setting spray until I know why itās happening.
Your skin type, skincare, application technique, product combinations, and even the order you apply everything all play a HUGE role.
Makeup isnāt one product. Itās a system. Unfortunately, most people were never taught that, so they stay on the hunt for the next āmiracleā foundation, primer (iykyk) or setting spray instead of fixing the actual problem. Waste of $$$$ letās be honest..
After teaching hundreds of women, Iāve noticed something: most people buy products to compensate for a skill or system issue.
The woman who wants glowy skin buys a matte foundation because itās the only one she can get to last. The woman with oily skin skips moisturizer because she thinks itāll make things worse. Theyāre solving the symptom instead of the cause.
The goal isnāt to compensate. Itās to build a makeup system that works with your skin and gives you the finish you actually want. I think thatās why our LEARN YOUR FACE lessons are our #1 booked service because we tailor the products to you, your time, your budget, your goals.. unlike most retailers with sales goals (no offense)
So letās make this a series. š
Drop the makeup questions youāve always wanted to ask a professional makeup artist, and Iāll answer them in future videos.
No gatekeeping. Just real education. For you guys

Iāve said this my entire career, and I still stand by it today.
What if social media didnāt raise the standardā¦
It just convinced YOU to chase the wrong one?
And before anyone misunderstands meā¦
Marketing matters. Social media matters.
But it was never supposed to become the foundation of your business.
It was supposed to amplify one. Build the root first. Then let marketing do what itās meant to do.

If thereās one thing I hope you take away from it, itās thisā¦
I never felt ready.
Not when I dropped out of high school. Not when I started at MAC. Not when I took my first bride. Not when I hired my first artist. Not when we opened the studio. Not when I built products. Not when I launched my course.
I kept waiting to feel qualified. Jokes on me, I never did.
What I did have were mentors who challenged me, clients who trusted me, and a team that expected more of me; They made me better. Every chapter taught me something. Every mistake changed me. Every pivot led me somewhere I couldnāt have planned⦠And honestly⦠thatās still true today.
Making hard decisions. Letting go of things I thought would last forever. Learning again. Pivoting again. Failing again. Thatās part of building something. The goal isnāt to have it all figured out. Itās to keep moving anyway.
If youāre scared of making the āwrong decisionā, I understand (deeply). But staying where you are because youāre waiting to feel ready is still a decision. Your story wonāt be written by the moments you felt confident. Itāll be written by the moments you have no fu***ng clue whatās next and you move anyways
If youāre a makeup artist and this resonates with you, maybe itās time to finally take a chance on yourself.

Wedding mornings are supposed to be fun.
One thing Iāve learned after years of doing bridal makeup is that the brides who enjoy the experience the most are the ones who allow themselves to be present. They trust the process, stop analyzing every step, and focus on how they want to feel when they walk down the aisle.
Rachel was exactly that bride š«¶š»
Comment the word āRACHELā and Iāll send you the list of products used on her for this classic level two bridal look.

Making sure your values match your behavior gives you a kind of peace you canāt fake. At the end of the day, you have to sit with yourself. No noise, no opinions, just the truth of how you decided to showed up.
Move in a way that you donāt have to explain or defend later. Thatās where real peace comes from. āØ
