My Rug Genie

“If it is to be, it’s up to me.”

One of my favorite quotes, and today it’s hitting a little differently.

Life gets FULL. I work a demanding full-time career. I’m building a business. I’m a mom with a child in college. I’m maintaining a home, relationships, friendships, responsibilities—and somewhere in all of that, still trying to make room for myself and the dreams I haven’t accomplished yet.

Some days I’m tired. Some days I question whether I’m doing enough. And then there are days like today when I wake up feeling motivated, energized and reminded that I only get one life.

I can wait for the perfect time.
I can wait for someone to open the door.
I can wait until life gets easier.

Or I can keep going.

Because at the end of the day, I am responsible for what I do with the life I’ve been given.

And maybe somebody else needs that reminder this Tuesday:

Start the thing. Make the call. Apply for it. Build it. Fix it. Try again. Pray about it—and then put some action behind that prayer.

You may not be able to change everything happening around you, but you can decide what you contribute to the world today.

Be kind. Be intentional. Make somebody smile. Work toward something that matters to you. And don’t keep putting your own life on hold.

Today, my little invention finally has a place online.

That might not sound like a big deal, but when you’ve spent years designing, testing, patenting, manufacturing, investing your own money, and believing in something before anyone else did… seeing your business appear on Google feels like a huge milestone.

Every little step reminds me that consistency matters.

This morning, I spent a little time repotting and separating some of my plants—and it made me think…

Sometimes, something isn’t failing. It has simply outgrown the space it was planted in. 🌱

A little more room. Fresh soil. Some care and attention. And suddenly, there’s space to grow again.

I think our homes—and sometimes our lives—are like that too. Every now and then, you have to move things around, clear out what’s crowded, refresh your space, and give the things you love a little attention. 🏡✨

Because creating a home you love isn’t always about buying something new. Sometimes it’s watering the plants, moving the furniture around, cleaning the rug, opening the windows, or finally taking care of that little project you’ve been putting off.

Your home deserves love, too. And so do you. 🤎
