Long time, no update. đź’›
I’m about five weeks post-surgery, and recovery has been much slower and more difficult than I expected. I’ve lost significant muscle and strength, and I’m attending physical therapy, focusing on nutrition, and relearning how to stand up straight after weeks of guarding my abdomen. My posture and mobility have been greatly affected, and I’m still unsure when I’ll be able to return to work.
Being unable to work while managing ongoing medical and living expenses has been incredibly challenging. I’m doing everything I can to recover, but the process is taking time, and I still have a long way to go.
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated to my GoFundMe or supported me in any way. Your generosity has helped me continue getting through this difficult period.
If you’re able to contribute, any amount—no matter how small—would make a meaningful difference toward my ongoing expenses. If you’re unable to donate, sharing my GoFundMe with friends, family, or on social media would still help tremendously by reaching someone who may be able to contribute. Every donation and share brings me one step closer to getting through this recovery and returning to work. 💛

A little healing update. 🩵
Today was my first post-op appointment, and it brought some much-needed encouragement. I had all 25 staples removed, started new treatments to help with healing, and even put on makeup for the first time in almost three weeks.
Recovery is moving in the right direction, but it’s definitely a marathon, not a sprint. Right now my full-time job is healing, resting, and getting enough calories to help my body recover so I can get back behind the chair doing what I love.
To everyone who has donated, shared my GoFundMe, sent a message, or kept me in your thoughts—thank you. Your kindness has helped lift an enormous weight off my shoulders during one of the hardest seasons of my life.
If you’d like to continue supporting my recovery, the GoFundMe link is in my bio. Every donation, share, and prayer truly makes a difference.
Thank you for walking this journey with me. 🩵🙏🏼
Just two weeks ago, I was on top of the world! Winning the Washington City Paper’s Best Hairstylist 2026 has been a dream of mine for 15 years. I barely had a chance to celebrate the victory before I found myself in the midst of a gigantic heath scare, which will keep me out of the salon for a while. Recovery will take a bit, and I appreciate all of the support and love you’ve been sending my way. ❤️‍🩹🙏🏼
Tired of using inky, dimensionless color on your roots every 3–4 weeks?
A balayage could be your new best friend ✨
By blending your natural greys with soft lowlights and highlights, you get a seamless, lived-in color that grows out beautifully (aka way less maintenance 🙌).
Taleen came in with grown-out greys, mixed tones, and old color — and left with this gorgeous warm honey blend 🍯 that will last her months, not weeks.
To keep her color looking fresh and healthy, she uses the L’Oréal Professionnel Metal Detox range at home — total game changer for shine and longevity ✨

One month of curl transformations ➿➰👏🏽
There’s nothing better than seeing a client look in the mirror and feel confident — that’s the greatest gift I can give to you! And honestly, seeing it in their eyes after an appointment? Best feeling ever.
Violet halo shullet 🤩
Pushing boundaries and loving every second of it! Laura and I go way back, and out of all the looks we’ve created… this one just claimed a top 3 spot. No notes 💜
I lightened her halo section with an oil-based lightener, then used L’Oréal INOA in a deep violet everywhere else. That soft lavender? A custom mix of four vivid shades that I found in my treasure box.
Dry cut before + after. Styled with L’Oréal Professionnel Curl Expression and volumizing mousse, then diffused in minutes with the AirLight Pro Hair Dryer.
