When you’re called to be the light in the darkness ✨

If you didn’t know any better, you might just believe she was a natural blonde 😜✨
We did her highlights back in July (the before photo is from that appointment), and today she was due back for her toning maintenance and cut appointment.
Your highlights don’t stop needing care just because the lightening service is already done. Over time, your toner fades, your hair becomes more exposed to the elements and everyday wear, and that beautiful, blended blonde can start looking dull, brassy, or less polished.
Think of your toner like a top coat on your nails 💅🏼
It gives your color that fresh, finished look and helps keep your blonde looking beautiful between highlight appointments. But just like a top coat gradually wears away, your toner does too! THIS is why I tell my blondes: don’t skip your maintenance appointments! 👏🏼
✨ Blondes should plan for a maintenance appointment at least every 3 months. Depending on your hair, that appointment may include a toner refresh + trim if you didn’t get one at your previous visit.
The goal isn’t to constantly lighten your hair — it’s to maintain the beautiful blonde you already have while keeping the integrity of your hair a priority. 🤍
So please don’t wait until your blonde is completely brassed out or your ends are falling off to come back. 😅 Quarterly maintenance is what keeps your color looking intentional, fresh, and healthy. ✨
Your highlight appointment creates the blonde. Your maintenance appointments keep it beautiful. 🤍

Reverse balayage + a fresh new cut for the winnnn
For this look, I used her existing lightness as her highlight and created a lowlight just a little lighter than her natural root—but darker and richer than her initial color. This helped blend out the harsh line of demarcation while creating the soft dimension she was craving.
The goal was to create a more natural-looking color with a softer, more seamless grow-out—without making her hair look flat.
We finished it off with a fresh cut that completely changed the feel of the look. The shape, the bangs, the layers 😍🤭 — it suits her vibe SO much better.
Sometimes you don’t need to add more lightness. Sometimes you just need to redistribute the dimension and find the right shape.
when i showed my husband the raw footage of me trying to make this we were dyinggggg🤣💀 one day I might share it as a bloopers reel
