The Adam's apple in this after photo did not exist before surgery. Dr. Seth built it using the patient's own cartilage.

This procedure is called augmentation chondrolaryngoplasty. Dr. Seth takes a small piece of rib cartilage through a short incision in the chest, then hand carves it into the three dimensional shape of a natural thyroid cartilage prominence.

The piece is placed directly over the patient's existing thyroid cartilage through a small incision positioned high in the natural crease of the neck, so the scar settles into a line the eye already expects to see. Permanent sutures hold the construct in place, which is why the projection holds its shape and does not shift over time.

This is one piece of Dr. Seth's broader approach to facial masculinization, where every structural change, brow, jaw, nose, and now the neck, is planned around what a specific patient's anatomy needs to read as masculine🔬
