We are closed today, so this one is just for reading.
People assume anyone who works in skin has a twenty step routine at home. The opposite is closer to true. What our estheticians keep is short and boring:
A cleanser that does not leave skin squeaking.
One hydrator, used on damp skin.
One moisturizer that suits the season, richer now than in July.
SPF, used on cloudy days too.
One active at most, used a few nights a week, not stacked with three others.
The shelves that cause trouble are the crowded ones. Four actives from four brands, all introduced in the same fortnight, and when skin reacts there is no way to know which one did it.
If you are rebuilding your routine this autumn, take things away before you add anything. Give what is left three weeks. Skin tells you plenty when you stop changing the variables.
Enjoy your Sunday. We are back Tuesday.

Plenty of clients tell us the massage was nice and the sleep afterwards was the part they actually noticed. There is a reason that is such a common report.
Falling asleep is a downshift. Your nervous system has to move out of the alert state it holds all day, and muscles that stay contracted keep signalling upward that something still needs attention. Shoulders locked up around your ears at 11pm are not a comfort problem, they are a signal problem.
Sustained pressure interrupts that loop. Breathing slows, the held areas let go, and the downshift gets easier for a few nights afterwards rather than only during the hour on the table.
Two things make the effect last longer. Drink water afterwards, and do not go straight back to a screen at close range, which puts your neck right back where it started.
If your tension has a pattern, upper back most days or jaw at night, the areas worth working on are not guesswork. Two minutes to map it: https://nuxara-client-portal-c41c07e8.viktor.space/tension-assessment?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=lead_magnet&utm_content=massage_sleep

People come in convinced their brows are thin, and often the hairs are all there. They are just too light to read from a normal distance.
That is what tinting fixes. A brow tint colours the hair, including the fine baby hairs around the edges of your shape that nobody notices until they suddenly show up. The result is a fuller looking brow using hair you already have.
What it does not do is create hair where there is none, and it is not permanent. Expect two to four weeks on the hair, a little less on anyone who cleanses their face hard. It also fades gradually rather than dropping off, which is why most people time the next one loosely rather than by the calendar.
It works well alongside shaping. Shaping decides the outline, tinting fills in the density inside it. If you have never had either, start with a conversation about what suits your face rather than a photo of someone else's brows.
Not sure whether shaping, tinting or both is your answer? Two minutes: https://nuxara-client-portal-c41c07e8.viktor.space/brow-assessment?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=lead_magnet&utm_content=brow_tinting

Ask our regulars what they book and you will hear about the extras almost as often as the main service. First time clients rarely know to ask, so here they are.
A scalp treatment. The tension you feel behind your eyes at the end of a long day often lives in the muscles across your scalp and temples, not in your forehead. Fifteen minutes of focused work there does more for that specific heavy feeling than another half hour on your back.
Foot and lower leg work. If you stand or walk all day, this is the add-on that makes people say they slept better that night. It is also the one people are most shy about asking for, which we have never understood.
Both are short, both stack onto a massage or a facial, and both are worth mentioning when you book rather than hoping there is time at the end. Say it when you make the appointment and we build the timing around it.

Almost every spa in town lists a custom facial. Very few explain what is actually being decided in the room, so here is ours, step by step.
Your esthetician reads your skin on the day, not from your file. Sleep, stress, travel, a week of salt water and sun all move the answer, which is why your September appointment can look different from your July one.
Then four things get chosen for you:
Cleansing depth, based on how much buildup is actually there.
Exfoliation level, based on how your barrier is behaving that day. Sensitive means less, not none.
Hydration versus clarifying focus, based on whether your skin is dehydrated, congested, or the very common both.
Extractions, which are always optional. If you would rather skip them, say so at the start and we work around them. Nobody will push.
That last one surprises people. Extractions are useful, they are not mandatory, and a facial without them is still a real facial.
Late September and early October appointments are open, and if it is your first facial or massage with us, new clients get $25 off.

The glass skin look keeps showing up in every 2026 trend list, and almost every version of the advice ends with a product to buy. That is the part that does not hold up.
Light reflects evenly off a surface that is smooth and well hydrated. It scatters off one that is rough or dehydrated. So the look is decided by two things:
Surface texture. Dead cell buildup, congestion and rough patches break light into a dozen directions, which reads as dull no matter how much highlighter goes on top.
Water content. Plump cells sit flush against each other. Dehydrated ones do not, and the tiny gaps between them are exactly what makes skin look flat.
What that means in practice is unglamorous. Gentle consistent cleansing, hydration layered on damp skin, and professional exfoliation at a pace your barrier can actually handle. Aggressive scrubbing gets you the opposite result, because a damaged barrier loses water and roughens the surface you were trying to smooth.
A Hydra-DM Custom Facial works on both at once, and your esthetician decides how much exfoliation your skin can take that day rather than following a fixed menu.
Not sure whether your dullness is texture or dehydration? Two minutes will tell you: https://nuxara-client-portal-c41c07e8.viktor.space/skin-assessment?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=lead_magnet&utm_content=glass_skin_texture

New week, and the last full week of September. If self care is the thing that keeps sliding off your list, the fix is not more willpower, it is putting it on the calendar like anything else you keep.
Two minutes of planning that usually pays off:
Look at your week and find the one hour you already know is quiet. That is the hour to protect.
Pick which thing your body is asking for. Tight shoulders and headaches point to massage. Dull, tight or congested skin points to a facial.
Book it now, not when you feel worse. Late September fills quickly as people get ahead of fall.
We are closed Sunday and Monday, so Tuesday through Saturday is where the openings are, and mid week mornings are the calmest appointments we have.
First time with us? New clients get $25 off a first facial or massage.

The most common way people use a spa is the rescue visit. Something is wrong, or an event is coming, so they book. It works, and two months later the same problem is back.
Skin does not respond to intensity, it responds to repetition. Surface cells turn over on roughly a month long cycle, which is why a single treatment gives you a good three weeks and no lasting change. Visits spaced with that cycle compound instead of resetting.
There is a quieter benefit too. When your esthetician sees your skin regularly, she is comparing it against the last visit rather than starting from zero. Congestion gets caught before it becomes a breakout, dehydration before it becomes flaking.
None of that has to mean more spending. Two thoughtful visits a season with a routine you actually keep at home will outperform four rescue appointments. The home routine is doing most of the work between visits either way.
It is Sunday. Nothing to book, nothing to buy. If your skin has been on the rescue plan all year, this is a good week to think about rhythm instead.

A dull ache that starts at the base of your skull, wraps up behind the ears and settles behind your eyes, worse by late afternoon, worse in a stressful week. Most people read that as a headache problem. Often it is a neck and jaw problem showing up in your head.
The usual chain looks like this. Hours at a screen pull your head slightly forward. The muscles along the back of your neck hold it there all day. Stress adds jaw clenching, often at night without you knowing. Those muscle groups refer pain upward and outward, which is why the sore spot and the ache are rarely in the same place.
What actually helps between visits: raise your screen so the top of it is at eye level, break the still posture every half hour, and unclench your jaw on purpose a few times a day. If you wake with a sore jaw, mention it to your dentist.
What massage adds is the part you cannot reach. Working the upper back, the sides of the neck, the base of the skull and the muscles around the jaw releases the holding pattern that stretching alone leaves in place. Tell your therapist where the ache lands, not just where it hurts to press, and the session gets built around it.

Brow lamination sets the direction your brow hairs grow in, so a sparse or unruly brow reads full and brushed up without adding a single hair. Typical results run six to eight weeks. We also see people back in three, disappointed, and it is almost always the first 24 to 48 hours.
The rules that actually matter after your appointment:
Keep them dry for 24 hours. No shower steam on your face, no swimming, no sweaty workout. Water in that window is the single biggest reason results drop early.
Do not touch or brush them for the first day.
Skip acids and retinol on the brow area for a couple of days.
Then brush them up daily and use a little conditioning oil. Lamination is a chemical process, and the hair needs the moisture back.
Sleeping face down on your brows will crease them. Worth knowing.
The other half of the answer is your own hair. Coarse, dense brows hold a set longer than fine, sparse ones, which is why timelines differ between two people who did everything right.
