Bodies are connected.

A restriction in one area can change the way you move somewhere else. Over time, your body may start compensating and suddenly the place that hurts isn’t necessarily the place that needs all the attention.

This is why assessment is such an important part of the work I do.

Instead of simply asking, “Where does it hurt?” I’m also looking at how you move, where you’re restricted, and what patterns your body has developed.

Are you curious about what your body is telling you?

Give me a call, I’d love to help you!

A little Labor Day reminder for anyone who needs it:

You don’t have to accomplish enough, work hard enough, or reach complete exhaustion before you’re “allowed” to rest.

Rest is part of caring for your body, so if today includes a nap, a slow morning, gentle movement, time outside, or simply doing less, let it.

Your body doesn’t always need you to push through. Sometimes it needs you to listen.

I love seeing my clients in my space, but the goal isn’t for your body to only feel supported when you’re here.

The little things you do between appointments matter too.

Stretching. Intentional movement. Hydration. Rest. Breathing. Paying attention when something starts to feel “off.”

That’s why I love giving clients realistic self-care tools they can actually use at home.

We’re a team in this so please reach out if you would like some ideas for extra care at home.

Your massage shouldn’t look exactly like everyone else’s.

Your body has its own story, patterns, injuries, stressors, and needs so your bodywork should reflect that. I don’t believe in following the exact same massage routine for every person who walks through my door.

I assess. I communicate. I pay attention to how your body responds. And then we adjust as we need to.

Sometimes that means focusing on an area you didn’t even realize was connected to where you’re feeling discomfort.

Your session is about your body and your goals.

Pause for a moment.
Take a breath.
How are your shoulders feeling right now?

What about your jaw? Your lower back?

Many of us become so used to discomfort that we stop noticing it until it becomes impossible to ignore.
Body awareness isn’t about judgment. It’s simply information.

The more connected you are to what your body is communicating, the easier it becomes to respond with care.

Let’s talk about one of my tools for supporting recovery: C*D Traumica+ Maxx Oil.

Many clients ask what they can do between sessions to help manage discomfort and support their body’s healing process.

This topical blend is often used to help soothe areas that feel overworked, tight, or irritated from everyday life, exercise, or recovery.

It’s not a replacement for treatment, but it can be a wonderful addition to your self-care toolbox.

If you’ve been curious about whether it’s a good fit for you, feel free to ask during your next appointment. I’m always happy to help you find supportive options that align with your goals.

End-of-summer reminder:

Self-love isn’t always the pretty version we see online.

It could look like canceled plans to give you more time to react.

Stretching for five minutes or even asking for help.

Don’t think that taking care of yourself isn’t selfish. It’s part of being able to show up for the people and things you care about.

What does self-care look like for you this week?

Athletes are often taught to push through discomfort, but your body sometimes has other ideas.

Whether you’re active in sports, a runner, weightlifter, weekend warrior, or someone who simply loves staying active, repetitive movement, old injuries, and overuse can create compensation patterns that affect how your body moves and feels.

Pain isn’t always the first sign something needs attention.

It can be reduced mobility, slower recovery or just feeling “off”.

Bodywork can help support recovery, improve movement awareness, and keep you doing the activities you love.

Back-to-school season isn’t just a transition for kids.
Parents, caregivers, teachers, and support staff often carry the invisible load of schedules, planning, appointments, and the mental gymnastics that come with getting everyone where they need to be.
If you’re noticing more tension in your neck, shoulders, jaw, or lower back lately, your body might be responding to stress before your mind has caught up.
This is your reminder that your care matters too.
You don’t have to wait until you’re completely exhausted to receive support.

Recently a client checked in with me and was wanting to know—Why they were having such great pain in their hips and legs? Being fairly active, they had recently taken a break from their regular movement and now their aches and pains were evolving. It’s common to wonder, what could be at the root of this pain?

Through much self reflection they were able to discover emotional pain that has been buried in their body and likely in their fascial tissue.
To my clients and prospective clients wanting my professional opinion on what to do when your body is hurting — I would ask:

What tools do you have in your tool box?
Get out that foam roller and get a little uncomfortable, lean into the discomfort.

What is your water intake looking like these days?
Your hydration matters!

Oftentimes its repetitive use that results in pain or injury and other times its underuse that mimics this sensation.

What do you notice? Overuse or underuse? Do you need support in your body to help manage pain?
