I still want the quick fix sometimes.
That probably sounds funny coming from someone who has spent more than 20 years helping other people with their skin.
But I’ve had my own seasons… acne and dark marks when I was younger, and now different things like pigmentation, fine lines and changes in skin firmness.
The hard part is remembering that every change doesn’t need an urgent response.
Some things need time. Some need consistency. Some need acceptance before they need another product.
I’m still learning that.
And honestly, that’s part of why I care so much about helping women make clearer decisions with their skin and instead of constantly feeling like they have to fix something.

Over exfoliating is why your dark spots keep getting darker. Over exfoliating triggers inflammation…. And inflammation is exactly what causes pigment to form in the first place.
I see this often: your spots gets darker after a week of aggressive treatment, and people assume the product failed. It didn’t. The exfoliation caused a new round of pigment to form.
My advice: exfoliate one to two times a week, max. Let the actual treatment do the work… not friction. If you found this helpful, let me know about it in the comments. Choose your next step through the link in my bio.

For most of my career, I helped people one patient at a time in an exam room.
This year, I’ve been learning how to show up here in a completely different way.
That part has been humbling.
I’m used to sitting across from someone, listening, asking questions and helping them decide what makes sense next. Social media is faster, louder, and a lot less personal.
But the reason I’m here is still the same.
If your skin is frustrating you, confusing you or making you feel like you have to keep guessing, I want to make the next decision a little clearer.
I’m still learning how to do that here.
But that’s what I’m building.

A skincare routine shouldn’t require a new decision every morning.
You should know what belongs in the morning, what belongs at night, and to pause when your skin isn’t tolerating something.
That’s why I created the Skin Clarity Routine Bundle.
Start with the Audit Workbook to look at what you’re already using, then use the Planner to organize it into a routine you can actually follow.
If your products make sense, but your routine doesn’t, start with the Bundle.
You’ll find it through the link in my bio.

That red light mask might not be doing what you think. Red light penetrates the skin and gets absorbed by mitochondria…. the energy producing part of your cells. That boosts ATP production, which fuels collagen production. But that only happens at specific wavelengths and doses. I see people using weak, inconsistent devices for a few minutes here and there, expecting clinical-level results. Wavelength and power output actually matter. My advice: confirm that your device falls in the targeted treatment range, and use it consistently. This is cumulative, not a one time fix.

STOP DOING THIS: Picking doesn’t help a breakout heal faster. It adds more inflammation to skin that’s already trying to recover… and I often see another spot show up nearby afterward. My advice: spot-treat it, then hands off.

Not everything needs an immediate reaction.
Sometimes the better move is to pause, pay attention, and decide what actually needs your energy.
That applies to skin, too.

Your dark spots aren’t stubborn. Your routine just isn’t strategic.
Most routines fail for one reason: too many products, competing with each other, with no actual plan behind them. A strategic routine protects daily, treats consistently, and gives your skin time to respond.

Lemon juice may sound like a natural way to brighten dark spots, but it can irritate the skin and make discoloration worse.
My advice: use ingredients actually formulated to treat pigment.
