📽️ “Rabbit of Seville” is a classic 1950 Warner Bros. Looney Tunes theatrical cartoon short that features Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd. The plot and non-stop slapstick humor are paced musically around the overture to Italian composer Gioachino Rossini’s 1816 opera buffa, The Barber of Seville. The cartoon opens with Elmer Fudd chasing Bugs Bunny into the backstage area of the Hollywood Bowl, where an audience is waiting to see a performance of The Barber of Seville. Bugs, the trickster, seizes the opportunity to fight on his terms by raising the curtain on Elmer, trapping him on stage in front of the audience. The orchestra begins to play Rossini’s famous overture, and the ensuing action is synchronized perfectly with the music. Bugs assumes various guises from the opera, most notably as a barber, and subjects Elmer to a series of escalating gags and comical predicaments. Memorable scenes include: Rabbit of Seville, directed by Chuck Jones, is considered a masterpiece of animation for its brilliant synchronization of action and classical music. In a 1994 poll of animation professionals, it was voted #12 on a list of “The 50 Greatest Cartoons.” It is often cited as one of the best examples of how Looney Tunes introduced generations to classical music. . . #rabbit #fypシ #explorepage #cartoon #viral #love #timegoesfast #memories #explore #viralvideos #viralreels #childhood 03/16/2026
