🇵🇭🎾 OKAY MGA KA-MARITES… WE HAVE AN OPPONENT! 👀😂

No. 3 seed ALEX EALA begins her Singapore Tennis Open campaign against Tatiana Prozorova in the Round of 16. 🔥

Yesterday: Who will Alex play?
Today: Mystery solved. 😂

Now Tita Mets would like everyone to remain CALM.

No imaginary trophy yet. 🏆❌
No planning the final. 😂
No “easy win” comments.
And absolutely NO JINXING OUR GIRL. 🤣

Alex has been putting in the work on the practice court, and now it’s time for the part that matters:

ONE MATCH. ONE OPPONENT. ONE POINT AT A TIME. 🇵🇭❤️

And here’s another little twist in the Singapore draw: second seed Amanda Anisimova withdrew Tuesday because of a left-wrist injury, changing that section of the bracket.

Mga ka-Marites, roll call! 😂👇

Who’s watching Alex vs. Prozorova? 🇵🇭🎾

Drop your 🇵🇭 below—but behave yourselves because Meta and the tennis gods are both watching us. 🤣🤣

🇵🇭🎾 SINGAPORE: SAME GIRL. VERY DIFFERENT ARRIVAL. 🥹❤️

Mga ka-Marites, THIS is the throwback I didn’t expect today. 😂

Alex Eala first competed in Singapore in 2016—when she was only 11 years old.

Fast-forward TEN YEARS…

She is back in Singapore at 21 as:

🔥 World No. 18
🔥 No. 3 seed at the Singapore Tennis Open
🔥 One of the biggest names of Southeast Asian tennis
🔥 And carrying the 🇵🇭 on a much, MUCH bigger stage.

From an 11-year-old kid coming to Singapore to compete…

to a woman arriving there with fans waiting for HER. 🥹

Sometimes you don’t notice how far you’ve traveled until life brings you back to where one of the chapters began.

Same Alex. Bigger stage. Bigger dreams. 🇵🇭❤️

And because Tita Mets learned her lesson… 😂

NO trophy predictions.
NO advance celebration.
NO jinxing.

We shall behave.

ONE. MATCH. AT. A. TIME. 🎾🤣

Mga ka-Marites, imagine telling 11-year-old Alex:

“Ten years from now, you’ll come back here as the No. 3 seed of a WTA 500.”

What would little Alex say? 🥹👇

🎾 FROM A 13-YEAR-OLD DREAMER TO A WTA 500 CHAMPION.

Sometimes we see the trophy and forget how long the road was. ❤️

In 2018, a 13-year-old Alex Eala arrived at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca.

She wasn’t World No. 18.
She wasn’t a WTA champion.
She was simply a young Filipina with a racket, a dream, and years of work ahead of her. 🇵🇭

Then the ladder started climbing…

🎾 2018 — Rafa Nadal Academy at 13
🏆 2020 — Australian Open Junior Doubles Champion
🏆 2021 — Roland Garros Junior Doubles Champion + first ITF singles title
🏆 2022 — US Open Junior Singles Champion
🔥 2025 — Miami Open semifinalist + broke into the WTA Top 100
🏆 2026 — WASHINGTON WTA 500 CHAMPION

Eight years. One step at a time.

That’s why I love looking back at old photos. They remind us that success rarely happens overnight.

Somewhere out there today is another 13-year-old holding a racket and dreaming an impossible dream.

Keep going. Alex was once that kid too. ❤️🇵🇭

And Alex? The ladder isn’t finished yet. 😉🎾

Which Alex milestone made YOU realize: “This girl is going somewhere”? 👇

🚨🇵🇭🎾 FROM SINGAPORE… TO JAPAN… ALEX EALA IS BOOKED AND BUSY! 😂

Mga ka-Tennis Marites, our girl’s calendar is starting to look like an airport departure board. 🤣✈️

First stop: SINGAPORE 🇸🇬
Alex is projected to enter the WTA 500 Singapore Tennis Open as the No. 3 seed. 👀🔥

Then: AICHI-NAGOYA, JAPAN 🇯🇵
And here’s today’s BIG news — Alex, currently World No. 18, is the highest-ranked WTA player on the initial Asian Games women’s singles entry list! 🇵🇭💪

And after the Asian Games? Her schedule doesn’t appear to stop there: Alex is also listed for the Wuhan Open in China. 🎾✈️

Singapore ➡️ Japan ➡️ China.

Ako pa lang ang napagod sa itinerary. Si Alex hindi pa umaalis! 😭🤣🤣🤣

But seriously, this next stretch could be one of the most exciting chapters of her season. One tournament at a time, one match at a time. ❤️🇵🇭

TENNIS MARITES QUESTION:
If Alex could bring home just ONE trophy from this Asian swing, alin ang pinaka-gusto n’yo? 👀

🇸🇬 Singapore title
🇯🇵 Asian Games GOLD
🇨🇳 Wuhan title

SAGOT! Bawal seen! 😂👇

🇵🇭🎾 WHEN THE FLAG CALLS… ALEX ANSWERS.

Alex Eala has a major decision in front of her: the China Open is a mandatory WTA 1000 event, but she has chosen to represent the Philippines at the Asian Games. Her camp is seeking an exemption while Philippine tennis and sports officials are standing behind her decision. ❤️🇵🇭

Ranking points matter. Tournaments matter. Careers matter.

But there are also moments when an athlete gets the chance to play with PHILIPPINES 🇵🇭 beside her name — and that means something special.

Whatever the WTA ultimately decides, one thing is certain: Alex knows what she wants to represent.

And mga ka-Tennis Marites… remember our advance planning yesterday? Singapore ➡️ Asian Games ➡️ eventually dreaming toward LA 2028? 😂

Hindi pala tayo advance. MAAGAP LANG! 🤣🤣🤣

QUESTION: If you were in Alex’s shoes, would you choose the mandatory WTA tournament or represent your country at the Asian Games? 🇵🇭🎾

Keep the discussion respectful — different answers are welcome! ❤️👇

🚨🎾 BREAKING: JESSICA PEGULA WITHDRAWS FROM SINGAPORE 🇸🇬

For everyone following Jessica with us, here’s today’s important update:

Jessica Pegula has withdrawn from the 2026 Singapore Tennis Open. 😢❤️

After a demanding stretch of tennis — including her deep run to the US Open semifinals — Jessica explained that she isn’t quite ready to return to competition at the standard she expects from herself.

And you know what, Jessica?

REST. ❤️

Sometimes the smartest thing an athlete can do isn’t play another match — it’s listen to the body.

No drama. No wild speculation. No Tita Mets medical diagnosis. 😂🤣

Just wishing one of our favorites a good recovery and hoping we’ll see that Jessica smile back on court when she’s ready. ❤️🎾

Her withdrawal also changes the Singapore field: reports now have Mirra Andreeva moving to the No. 1 seed and our Alex Eala projected as the No. 3 seed. 👀🇵🇭

Jessica fans, leave her a ❤️ below!

What has been your favorite Jessica Pegula moment this season? 👇

Take care, Jessica. Your fans will be waiting. ❤️🇺🇸

🇵🇭 WORLD NO. 18… BUT WHEN THE FLAG CALLS, ALEX ANSWERS. ❤️

Alex Eala begins another week at her career-high World No. 18 — and our girl is already back in Singapore preparing for her next battle. 🇸🇬🎾

But here’s today’s Tennis Marites twist. 👀😂

After Singapore, Alex plans to represent the PHILIPPINES 🇵🇭 at the Asian Games, even though it means adjusting her WTA schedule and skipping Beijing.

And apparently there could be consequences depending on how the WTA waiver situation is resolved.

Tita Mets reaction:

“Ay naku… somebody bring out the rule book. 📖👓😂”

But one thing I respect:

At only 21, Alex is balancing ranking points, professional tournaments, expectations, recovery… AND the opportunity to play for her country.

That’s not an easy decision.

So from this page: no unnecessary pressure and no pretending we know better than Alex and her team.

First assignment:

🇸🇬 SINGAPORE — SEPTEMBER 21–27

Then we’ll Marites the next chapter when it arrives. 😂🎾

And Singapore is going to be interesting because Jessica Pegula is also among the tournament headliners. 👀❤️

QUESTION FOR OUR 5.7K TENNIS FAMILY:
If you were Alex, would you prioritize ranking points or the chance to represent your country at the Asian Games? 🇵🇭👇

Keep the discussion respectful — there really are good arguments on both sides. ❤️

One match. One decision. One chapter at a time. Keep rising, Alex. 🇵🇭🎾

🏆💰 POV: You just won $5 MILLION and a shiny Tiffany & Co. trophy… so naturally, THE TROPHY COMES TO LUNCH TOO. 😂🤣

After all that work, forget putting it on the shelf — give the trophy a plate! 🍽️🏆😂

Tita Mets only has one question:

“WHO’S PAYING THE BILL? Because I KNOW somebody at this table has money!” 💵🤣🤣

And if that were me after winning $5M?

First thing I’d buy: PRIVACY. 😭😂
Before the relatives discover I suddenly became their favorite cousin, auntie, ninang and long-lost sister. 🏃‍♀️💨🤣

YOUR TURN: If you suddenly won $5 MILLION, what’s the VERY FIRST thing you’d buy? 👀👇

Wrong answers are highly encouraged. 😂😂😂

NO TROPHY THIS TIME… BUT STILL ALL CLASS, JESSICA.

Jessica Pegula’s US Open journey ended in the semifinals against Aryna Sabalenka, 7–5, 6–2.

But this is one reason I’ve grown to enjoy following Jessica:

No drama. No excuses. No blaming everybody and their grandmother. 😂

Sometimes you can play well and the person across the net simply plays better that day.

Jessica basically acknowledged exactly that—and even managed to joke about it afterward. 😂👏

That’s sportsmanship.

And Jessica fans… we’re not finished yet. 👀

🇺🇸 Jessica Pegula ➡️ SINGAPORE 🇸🇬
🇵🇭 Alex Eala ➡️ SINGAPORE 🇸🇬

YESSSS. Our two girls are heading to the same tournament! 😂🎾

Now before the comments start: NO, Tita Mets is not manifesting an Alex-vs-Jessica match yet! 😭🤣 Let us see the draw first before we create problems for ourselves.

Rest well, Jessica. Another tournament, another opportunity. ❤️

Who’s another Jessica Pegula fan here? And what do YOU like most about her game or personality? 👇

🇵🇭 WHEN YOUR CHILDHOOD IDOL STARTS BELIEVING IN YOU… YOU KNOW SOMETHING SPECIAL IS HAPPENING. 🥹🎾

Imagine growing up admiring Maria Sharapova…

…and years later, Sharapova is talking about YOUR potential. 😭❤️

Alex Eala enters another week holding her career-high World No. 18 ranking, and the conversation around her is getting bigger and bigger.

But Tita Marites has one request: 😂

Everybody calm down with the Grand Slam predictions muna! 🤣🤣

Let the girl breathe, train, eat, sleep and play tennis. 😂🎾

We’ve watched Alex win.
We’ve watched her lose heartbreakers.
We’ve watched her learn.
And somehow every chapter makes this journey even more interesting.

Next assignment: Singapore. 🇸🇬

No pressure from this page.

Okay… maybe just a LITTLE pressure because 5.5K Marites are watching. 👀🤣🇵🇭

Whatever happens next, we’re here for the journey—not only the trophies.

Keep rising, Alex. One match at a time. ❤️🇵🇭
