Long post but a great story about an incredible human…
I transferred to Hart my Sophomore year and I was shocked by how big and fast everyone was. I briefly met a senior linebacker who would end up becoming the CIF Defensive Player of the Year. I looked up to him (mainly because I didn’t want him to tackle me lol). He was a monster on the field but he was always kind to everyone around him.
I opened ICE and he came in and signed up. The high school kid in me was so excited that the guy I looked up to was at my business. He came in consistently but over time he hasn’t come in as much as either of us wanted him to. I reached out to get him back in and thank him for his support and he said, “I’m just happy to see you smile again.” I love how role models could end up becoming your friend! Happy 40th my man!
