🔎 VERIFICATION: A fact-check published in September 2026 found no credible evidence that Davido endorsed Peter Obi for the 2027 presidential election. Davido reportedly stated in an interview that he had not chosen a preferred candidate.

🚨🇺🇸🇿🇦 LATEST: US–SOUTH AFRICA TENSIONS ESCALATE

The United States has announced new visa restrictions targeting certain foreign nationals linked to policies in South Africa that Washington says promote race-based discrimination, incitement of violence and uncompensated land seizures.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio accused the South African government of failing to adequately address what Washington describes as rural crime, violent rhetoric and discriminatory policies affecting Afrikaners and other minority populations.

🇿🇦 The South African government has rejected the U.S. characterization, saying its domestic policies are being misrepresented.

The latest move adds to growing tensions between Washington and Pretoria.

⚠️ Important: The allegations about discrimination and government policy are claims made by the U.S. administration and are disputed by the South African government.
