Red was our first baby… I got Red for my husband before we were even married as a Christmas gift.
Nine years is a long life for a French Mastiff… I didn’t realize he was basically 100!
If I’m being completely honest… he and I haven’t exactly been besties these last few years. 😂 After having kids… the shedding, the slobber, the giant body always in the way… he drove me absolutely insane sometimes…. He was very clearly my husband’s dog and I made sure everyone knew it… they were always inseparable and Red only listened to him…
But before the kids… before all the chaos…. before this life got as full as it is now… there was just us and him.
He was there for the beginning. He was our first baby… our first family… and as much as he drove me crazy…. I loved him too.
Today we had to say goodbye…
Thank you for growing up with us… for loving my husband the way you did… and for being part of so much of our story…
We’ll miss you, big guy. ❤️
