Wanting to start your own business? Here are some pieces of advice I would offer to someone who is just starting out: 🤗➡️

1. Don’t compare yourself to anyone else. Your progress and work will not look like anyone else’s, and that’s perfectly fine! It’s not supposed to.🫶🏽

2. Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. Social media is your bestfriend. It’s my #1 marketing tool, use it to your advantage. 👀

3. Make a business page, and keep posting! Who cares how many followers you have, who cares if you only get 5 likes. People will see your work, someone will tell their friends about you, and they’ll book. 💜

4. Don’t let one bad appointment make you re-think your whole career. We all have our “off days.” Maybe your client’s hair didn’t come out exactly how you envisioned, maybe you feel you should’ve done things differently. Learn from your mistakes so you know what NOT to do next time 😉

5. Not every service has to be on your menu. It’s okay to explore and try other things, but find what you’re good at and make that your specialty. Quality over quantity✅

6. “Fake it till you make it”
Am I saying to be fake? No. Be yourself, be authentic, but be CONFIDENT. If you’re showing that you’re scared or nervous, you’ll pass that feeling onto the client and they probably won’t trust you or want you to touch their hair 😬

7. Always believe in yourself and keep going. Growing a business takes time, but time goes by fast. In a year or two, you’ll be even further than where you’re at now. 💫
