When did you decide that what you could do became who you are?

That the things you can't do anymore mean you're less capable.
Less valuable.
Less worthy.

Chronic illness can change what your body allows you to do but it doesn't get to decide who you are.

You are still you.

Even when your life looks different.
Even when you need help.
Even when you have to let go of things you once could do.

Your abilities are a part of your story.

They are not your identity. 🤍

Living with chronic illness or an autoimmune condition affects far more than physical health.
Even when you appear to be managing on the outside, the emotional toll can be significant: frustration, isolation, grief, and uncertainty about the future. Unpredictable symptoms, fatigue, and new limitations can reshape your work, relationships, and daily routines.

Therapy isn't about "fixing" illness. It's about finding ways to live with greater emotional support, balance, and resilience, whether that means processing grief, setting boundaries that protect your energy, or building self-compassion along the way.
You don't have to manage these challenges alone. We offer virtual therapy for clients across Florida and Oregon, so you can get support from the comfort of home.

Sometimes grieving your past life doesn’t like acceptance…

Sometimes it looks like anger.
Jealousy. Resentment.
Crying in the bathroom because you’re tired of pretending you’re ok.
Looking at all pictures of missing the person you used to be.
Wondering why your life had to change when you’re finally figuring it out.

And honestly?

You don’t always have to turn those feelings into something positive.

You don’t know how to be grateful for the lessons
You don’t have to find the silver lining.
You don’t have to call it a “new beginning.”

Sometimes it just hurts.

Healing isn’t always making peace with what happened. Sometimes it’s allowing yourself to admit….

“I miss who I was. I miss what I could do. And today, I’m really fu***ng sad about it.”

It doesn’t mean you’re not healing.

It means you’re human. 🤍

Everyone has questions before starting therapy. Here are a few we hear often:
"Is my experience even 'enough' to ask for help?" If life feels harder than it should, that's reason enough. You don't have to arrive knowing exactly what you want to work on.

"Do you offer online therapy?" Yes, for residents of Florida and Oregon, so you can get support from a private, comfortable space without travel.

"Can therapy help with chronic illness or medical stress?" Yes. We make space for the grief, fear, and exhaustion that can come with illness, even when others don't fully understand what you're carrying.

"Will I be in therapy forever?" No. Some clients come for short-term support around one issue, others stay longer for deeper work. Therapy should serve your life, not become something you feel stuck in.

Want to ask your own questions? We offer a complimentary consultation.

Acceptance doesn’t mean I like what happened.
It doesn’t mean I’ve stopped grieving what I thought my life would look like.
And it definitely doesn’t mean I’m giving up. 🤍

Sometimes acceptance is the middle space, the place between fighting reality and feeling defeated by it.

It’s asking myself:

✨ Where am I still resisting what is?
✨ What might the middle space look like for me?
✨ What can I adapt without abandoning what matters most to me?

Maybe healing isn’t about choosing between “acceptance” and “hope.”

Maybe it’s learning how to hold both.

I can acknowledge what has changed and still believe there is a meaningful life waiting for me here. 🫶🏻

If you were just diagnosed, you don’t have to be strong every second. 🤍

There will be days you grieve the person you were, days you’re angry, days you’re scared of what comes next and days you surprise yourself with how much you can still do.

You don’t have to have it all figured out right now.

Take it one day. One adjustment. One breath at a time.

Your diagnosis may have changed your life, but it does NOT get to decide your worth, your identity, or the rest of your story. 🫶🏼

And if nobody has told you yet: you are still you.

Fact, Fear, or Unknown?

When everything feels overwhelming, you don’t have to figure it all out at once. 🤍

Try asking yourself:
✨ What do I know right now?
✨ What am I afraid might happen?
✨ What don’t I know yet?
✨ What am I assuming?
✨ What can wait?
✨ What can wait?

Not every unanswered question needs an immediate answer. Not every problem belongs to today.

Sometimes healing looks like giving your nervous system permission to pause, focus on what’s actually in front of you, and let the rest wait.

Save this for the next time everything feels like too much. 🫶🏼

Do we really need couples therapy?

You still love each other. But maybe you keep having the same argument, or the warmth has faded into logistics and short conversations about what needs to get done.
Couples therapy isn't only for crisis. The healthiest time to work on a relationship is often before resentment has years to build. And most couples don't get stuck because one person is the problem, but because they've fallen into a pattern they both keep getting pulled into.

If you're asking the question, the connection probably matters enough to care for it intentionally.

Chronic illness can change more than your health.

Sometimes, it changes your relationships, too.

People leave. Relationships shift. And you’re left grieving not only who you lost, but who you thought would stay.

In therapy, I help chronic illness & autoimmune clients process that grief, rebuild their identity, and navigate relationships after life changes.

You’re allowed to grieve the people who left and still create a life you love.

If chronic illness has changed your relationships, you don’t have to navigate that grief alone. 🤍
