There are SO many ways to create anime spikes, but here’s what you need to understand: one anime spike is actually multiple spikes directed toward each other to create that bold, defined effect.

Want less drama? Start with 2 spikes directed together. Want them darker, thicker & more dramatic? Keep adding more depending on the look you’re trying to create.
But the real key to a good anime set? Direction, placement & utilizing the different lash layers. 👏 Where you place your spikes and how you direct them will completely change the final result.

And remember… practice makes perfect. Anime sets take time to master!

WHY YOUR SPIKES AREN’T STAYING 👀

If your spikes are popping off before your client’s next fill, your adhesive pickup could be the problem.

The #1 mistake? Not dipping into enough adhesive. Your spike needs enough adhesive to properly wrap + bond to the natural lash, and the difference between not enough and the perfect amount can completely change your retention.

But your adhesive speed matters too.

If it’s drying too fast, it can begin curing before you’ve had time to perfectly direct + place your spike, leading to a weaker bond.

If it’s drying too slow, you’re more likely to deal with stickies, especially when working with multiple spikes close together.

The goal: fast enough to keep your spike exactly where you place it, but slow enough to give you time to direct + create a strong bond.
