Question I get a lot…
Can I still use my retinol in the summer? ✨
The answer is yes, BUT… ✋
Retinol, a derivative of Vitamin A can increase cell turnover and will cause fresh skin to be more vulnerable to the UV rays ☀️
You will want to apply your retinol only at night. It is important that you cleanse off in the morning before you go on your morning walk or enjoy your coffee outside ☕️
I recommend not using with other acids such as salicylic or glycolic as it can cause irritation and increased skin sensitivity. And of course,
I always recommend pairing the Lira Clinical daily solar shield hydrating moisturizer with 30 SPF to protect your skin barrier while using either of the retinols in your regimen 😎
So, yes to summertime use of retinol, BUT use carefully! ☀️
