Now friend…the stepbrother/stepsister thing? That is NOT my trope. 😬😂 But once I got past that, this was a good read.

Garrett and Mia bring the tension, the banter, and plenty of messy decisions. Garrett, baby…the secrets? The avoidance? You were making things harder than they needed to be. 🤦🏽‍♀️

There’s also more going on here than the spicy setup suggests. Garrett’s struggle with depression, his fear of letting people see what he’s dealing with, and the way he hides behind humor give the story some emotional weight. Being wanted and allowing yourself to be truly known are two very different things, and that comes through in their relationship.

I did this as an immersion read, following along while listening to the audiobook, and the narrators were great! Nobody sounded like nails on a chalkboard or irritated me every time they opened their mouth, so we love that. 😂👏🏽

The stepsibling trope still isn’t for me, but the story gave me enough to move past it. Four stars—and appreciation for a spicy read that also makes room for vulnerability.

I’m currently listening to The Blonde Who Came In From the Cold by Ally Carter, and the setup already has me intrigued. Two rival spies wake up bloody, bruised, and handcuffed together with no clue where they are or who’s after them… oh, and there’s that tiny little issue of their complicated romantic history. 👀

Okayyyyy Laurel Quinn is my kind of unhinged. 😂

Hummingbird gave me second-chance romance, childhood best friends, bad decisions, feminine rage, morally questionable men, humor, spice, and plenty of “girl WHAT are you doing?!” moments.

Laurel is sarcastic, messy, self-aware, slightly psycho, and completely unapologetic about it—and I loved her for it. Then there’s Emilio… SIR. 😒 Their history and chemistry had me hooked, but baby, when this book took a TURN, it TOOK A TURN. The pen incident should’ve warned me. 😂

Funny, emotional, sexy, chaotic, a little dark, and completely aware of its own insanity.

Apparently my favorite type of heroine is now “possibly needs therapy, definitely knows how to use a knife.” 🔪😂
