You can’t tell me I’ve been doing hair for this long 😂
I feel better NOW than I ever have.
Fitness has always been part of my life, but there were definitely seasons when I neglected myself and put work above everything.
And if you’re a hairstylist, you know how easy that is to do.
You get caught up in making money. Staying booked. Taking one more client. Squeezing somebody else in. Working through lunch. Coming in early. Staying late.
Then one day you realize you’re behind the chair WAY more than you ever intended to be.
Add being a wife and a mom of three daughters to the mix, and there have been plenty of seasons where I struggled with figuring out where my energy needed to go.
I can say it now: work has kicked my ass a few times. 😂
I’ve been a workaholic!!!!
And one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned after 20+ years in this industry is that not all money is good money.
What’s the point of making the money if you’re too exhausted to enjoy the fruits of your labor?
So if I could tell another stylist a few things I wish I understood sooner, it would be this:
You do NOT need a million followers to build a successful business.
You don’t have to be booked from morning until night to make good money.
Sometimes slowing down actually moves you further.
Prioritize your health because YOU are one of the biggest assets in your business.
And please… put systems in place. Your business should support your life, not completely consume it.
I’m still learning. Still adjusting. Still figuring out what this next version of my career looks like.
But one thing I know for sure…
Success looks a lot different to me now than it did 20 years ago.
My client drove from Tucson to sit in my chair.
First time clients and long-term clients always receive the same experience. The experience will always be thorough, professional, and detailed.
Most clients who sit in my chair are looking for help with true hair care.
With this economy, no one has money to waste so make your appointment count.
I have just a few appointments remaining for the month of September… be on the look for appointment updates in the stories.

Here’s a polished version that keeps it warm, personal, educational, and true to your healthy-hair-first approach:
I had the BEST time with this client. She came in ready to get back to caring for her natural hair and honestly, ready to feel like herself again.
We took our time talking through what she’s been experiencing, with dryness being one of her biggest concerns. And this is why I love a good consultation. Sometimes it’s not about doing more to your hair…it’s about understanding what your hair actually needs.
She left with a regimen, product recommendations, and most importantly, clarity on how to care for her hair moving forward.
She told me this was the most definition she’s seen in her curls in a while and we’re just getting started! As we continue to restore hydration and get her hair back on track, I already know these curls are going to POP. 🙌🏾
And sidenote…can we talk about this gray?! 😍 Gray hair can require a little extra attention when it comes to moisture and manageability, but I am absolutely obsessed with her natural color.
This is a journey, not a one-appointment fix. I’ll be sharing updates over the next few months so you can see what consistency, the right regimen, and intentional healthy hair care can do.

Feeling Overwhelmed on Wash Day?
Mama... if wash day feels overwhelming, I want you to know you’re not alone.
After working all week, taking care of everyone else, and trying to keep up with life, it’s easy for hair to feel like just one more thing on your to-do list.
The good news?
Wash day doesn’t have to feel chaotic.
A little preparation before you even turn the water on can make the whole experience smoother, less stressful, and honestly... a lot more enjoyable for both you and your child.
You don’t have to do everything perfectly. You just need a process that works for your family.
♥️ Comment “HELP” and I’ll send you some of my favorite tips for setting yourself up for a successful shampoo day.
Y’all just spoiled 🫶🏾
