My goal as your makeup artist is to make you look and feel your best, and put you at ease. On shoots and on set, I pride myself in being professional and anticipating the talent’s needs before they ask. I am truly passionate about what I do, because it allows me to build new relationships and meet people that I may not have had the opportunity to. My strong love of hair and makeup artistry came when I was on a competitive Latin and Ballroom dance team while attending UC Davis. I would help my team members with their hair and makeup for competitions, and always loved creating different looks. After graduating from UC Davis, I moved to San Diego where I pursued my love of makeup. I attended makeup artistry school in Los Angeles and started working as the lead makeup artist for a local TV news station in downtown San Diego. My work has been featured on Fox News Channel, CNN, MSNBC, HLN, Fox Business, CBS, Syfy Network, E! , and KPBS. I specialize in beauty services for TV, film, media, special events, bridal, boudoir, print, editorial, and commercial clients. I also teach makeup lessons upon request. Ankerman Artistry services include everything from High Definition makeup application, airbrush makeup, false eyelashes, and hair styling.

Artificial intelligence is taking the beauty world by storm, and while it’s an amazing tool for sparking creativity, it creates hair and makeup using algorithms, not real world hair density, bone structure, or skin texture! That’s right, even the ones AI generates using a photo of you!
Here is what we keep in mind when using AI images for your bridal beauty vision:
✨Hair Density vs. Pixels: AI can add thousands of imaginary strands to a crown in seconds. In the salon chair, we work with the exact density, length, and growth patterns of your natural hair.
✨Physics Matters: Those weightless, floating tendrils in AI photos don’t always stay up without a little human gravity! I am so incredibly grateful to the country that has given me, my family, and so many others freedom and countless opportunities we may not have had anywhere else. My ancestors came here from all over the world to make a new life for themselves. They were always so proud of what they built and the country that allowed them to do it.
I pray that God continues to bless this beautiful nation that so many have fought and died for, and so many still risk their lives to reach. 💗✨
On a side note, this was such a fun commercial to work on for Cosequin! 🎬🎥 I got to love on horses AND dogs….what a dream!
When asked what I love about my job, it always comes back to getting to be creative while helping people feel like the best version of themselves. Whether it’s a bride in her wedding day, or a client getting ready for a special event, the experience is the same for me and my team!

In January I wrapped another amazing Cosequin Joint Health Supplements commercial! Not only did I get to glam up the humans, but I got to love on the 4-legged co-stars as well (when they weren’t working of course).
Working with pets always brings a new layer, which makes prep and set awareness everything! For this spot, my focus was creating natural and effortless, camera-ready looks that felt authentic to real pet owners, while being mindful of time, touch ups, and the flow of the shoot.
In productions like this, I always prioritize:
-Fast, efficient chair time to protect the schedule
-Continuity (especially with active talent and pets!)
-Set awareness so I’m adjusting without slowing the flow/momentum down.
-Calm energy, because animals feel everything! (Luckily, I have 10 years of working in the veterinary industry so I can gauge animal behavior and what they react to)
✨Producers and directors: I understand how every department supports the bigger picture. My goal is to always elevate the on-camera talent while keeping production moving smoothly!

For me, a bridal preview is highly recommended and here’s why:
-We get to connect before the big day.
Your wedding day is such an important, intimate moment, and I would hate for that to be the first time we meet! I love getting to know you, hearing your love story, and understanding how you want to look and feel when you walk down the aisle.
-We can explore and perfect your look.
This is our time to play with different styles, make tweaks, and make sure everything feels like you.
- I get to learn your skin and hair.
Everyone’s skin and hair respond differently to makeup and styling. The wedding day is not the time to experiment! A preview allows us to see what works best and make any necessary adjustments ahead of time.
- You get a sneak peek of what you will look like on your wedding day!
There’s nothing like seeing yourself all done up and knowing exactly what to expect. I want to make sure you’re confident, excited and feeling like the best version of yourself for your wedding day!
🎶 THIS IS HOW WE DO IT! Making a movie AND dancing! I thought it would be fun to take the cast of back to 1995 and challenge them to a dance off! I have to say, they all had some amazing moves.
This has been such a FUN cast and crew. I’m going to be so sad when we are done filming next week. 💕
