Just so you know what to expect the day of your first wax: our hair grows in three different stages, like a shift system. Today, we’re catching the hair that's fully grown out, but there’s always a fresh layer sitting right under the surface that hasn't peeked through yet.

Because of that, your first wax won't leave you completely baby-smooth for weeks, and you might feel a tiny bit of stubble a few days later—that’s just the next shift coming up! It usually takes 2 to 3 consistent waxes spaced 4 weeks apart to get all your hair on the same growth cycle so you get that ultra-smooth, long-lasting result.

For the next 48 hours, your skin just needs to breathe and calm down. That means no heat, no friction, and no heavy lotions. Skip hot showers, saunas, workouts, and tight jeans for a couple of days.

Starting around day three, you'll want to gently exfoliate a couple of times a week to keep new hairs from getting trapped—especially since your hair is on that different growth cycle now.

***Glycolic acid is awesome for preventing ingrowns because it clears out dead skin so new hair can slide right through. Just remember the golden rule: no acids for three days after your wax, and stop using it three days before your next appointment. Think of it as a midweek treatment, not a post-wax soothe!***
