The liver is more than a “detox organ.”
It’s one of the body’s major processing systems—transforming nutrients, medications, hormones, alcohol, and other compounds so the body can use, store, change, or eliminate them.
And here’s the part we often miss:
Detoxification doesn’t happen in isolation.
The liver, bile, gut, and kidneys work together as part of the body’s larger elimination network.
That’s why supporting the liver isn’t about “forcing a detox.” It’s about supporting a system that’s already working around the clock.
Your body is a network—not a collection of isolated organs.
🌿 That’s the philosophy behind Rooted Liver.
Not all herbal preparations are made the same 🌿
So… should you make a cold infusion, hot infusion, or decoction?
It depends on the herb—and what you’re trying to extract.
🧊 Cold infusion: longer steep, gentle extraction; often useful for delicate, mucilaginous herbs
🔥 Hot infusion: shorter steep with heat; great for many leaves and flowers
🍵 Decoction: simmering tougher plant material; commonly used for roots, barks, and seeds
And no, cold infusion doesn’t automatically mean “weaker.” An overnight cold infusion can extract plenty—it’s simply a different extraction method.
Knowing how to prepare an herb is part of knowing the herb. 🌱
My morning routine starts with supporting the body’s natural rhythms 🌿
Lymph first. Cortisol support with my morning tea.

Insult resistance can exist quietly for years — and it isn’t simply a “blood sugar problem.” Insulin is a hormone that acts as a signal. It binds to insulin receptors on target cells and helps signal the body to take up, use, or store glucose.
But when cells become less responsive to insulin’s signal, the body has a harder time managing glucose effectively.
So what happens?
The pancreas can compensate by producing more insulin to help overcome that resistance. For a while, blood glucose may still remain within a “normal” range — because the pancreas is working harder to keep it there. But if that demand continues and the body can no longer compensate adequately, glucose can begin to rise, increasing the risk of prediabetes and eventually type 2 diabetes.
And this is why I don’t look at blood sugar in isolation.
Insulin signaling can be influenced by the bigger metabolic picture — including stress and cortisol, sleep, physical activity, inflammation, body composition, liver health, and underlying hormonal or metabolic conditions.
Your body isn’t a collection of separate systems. It’s a network. So sometimes the question isn’t just:
“What is your blood sugar doing?”
It’s: “Why is your body having to work so hard to regulate it?”
✨ Coming soon: Sweet Balance Tincture ✨
One of the formulas currently being crafted in my formulary was created with intention around supporting healthy blood sugar balance.
Blood sugar isn’t only something we think about when discussing diabetes. It plays a role in energy levels, cravings, metabolism, hormones, and overall wellness.
The body works as a whole system — and each herb in this formula was chosen intentionally for its traditional use and how it may support the body’s natural balance.
I can’t wait to share more about Sweet Balance soon.
