We need to say something hard and honest.
Insurance companies are failing families — and they’re failing small-town health care.
Every day, we fight to get reimbursed for the lactation care parents are absolutely entitled to, only to be denied, delayed, or underpaid in ways that would make your head spin.
And do you know who pays the price?
Not the insurance executives.
Parents. Babies. Rural communities. Small organizations like ours trying to hold the line.
We see families walk through our doors exhausted, crying, overwhelmed — and terrified they can’t afford help.
And every single time, we tell them:
“We will take care of you. Whether you can pay or not. Whether you have insurance or not. We refuse to turn you away.”
But the truth?
This promise is getting harder to sustain.
Insurance companies are squeezing small-town lactation providers to the point of collapse, and it is absolutely destroying access to skilled lactation care in places like Western North Carolina.
And that is why we need you.
If you believe families deserve real lactation support, that moms should not be on the phone for an hour with insurance while three days postpartum, that babies deserve no-nonsense care quickly— not excuses, not denials, not insurance games — we are asking, with full hearts:
💛 Please, please donate.
Your support fills the gap created by systems that are failing families. It keeps our doors open. It keeps care alive in rural communities. It allows us to say “yes” when insurance says “no.”

And if you need breastfeeding help, please reach out.
Truly — you will never be turned away. Not now. Not ever.
Thank you for standing with us in this fight. We will not back down from providing the best support to the families who need it most, regardless of ability to pay. That is our promise to you.
