Where is the best place to go stargazing tomorrow night? Lots happening in the galaxy right now and I feel the energy. Do you? Where can I go that is safe but no lights do I can see the stars for a while during late night. I get off at 11 pm

On the night of August 27–28, 2026, the Full Moon will pass through Earth’s shadow, creating a dramatic deep partial lunar eclipse. At the maximum of the eclipse, around 93% of the Moon’s diameter will be inside Earth’s darkest shadow, known as the umbra.

Because most of the lunar surface will be covered by shadow, the Moon may appear noticeably darker, with the eclipsed portion taking on a rusty copper or reddish tint. This color happens because Earth’s atmosphere filters and bends some sunlight toward the Moon.

The eclipse will be visible from much of North and South America, as well as parts of Europe and Africa, although the exact view will depend on the local time and whether the Moon is above the horizon.

Unlike a solar eclipse, a lunar eclipse is safe to observe with the unaided eye. Binoculars or a small telescope can also make the changing shape of Earth’s shadow easier to see. As the night progresses, the shadow will slowly move across the Moon, creating a striking celestial display before the Moon gradually returns to its normal appearance.

😯👉🌔 TONIGHT: THE MOON ON AUGUST 23 IS BUILDING TOWARD SOMETHING SPECTACULAR

On August 23, 2026, the Moon is about 82% illuminated, shining as a bright waxing gibbous in the evening sky. Each night, it becomes a little brighter as it moves closer to the Full Moon.

🌔 Watch the Moon’s Terminator

One of the most fascinating features is the terminator — the boundary between the Moon's sunlit and dark sides.

Around this line, sunlight strikes the lunar surface at a low angle. This creates long, dramatic shadows across craters, mountains, and valleys. Some peaks may catch the sunlight while nearby areas remain hidden in darkness.

Even a pair of binoculars can reveal impressive details along this changing boundary.

🌑 A Lunar Eclipse Is Coming

There is another reason to watch the Moon tonight.

In just a few nights, on August 27–28, Earth's shadow will move across the Moon during a deep partial lunar eclipse.

At the peak of the eclipse, about 93% of the Moon's diameter will enter Earth's dark umbral shadow. The eclipsed section could take on a beautiful reddish or copper-colored glow as sunlight passes through Earth's atmosphere before reaching the lunar surface.
