That’s the idea behind Florashi, a workshop series coming to Acosta Hair Design this summer and fall.
All you have to do is show up. Olga brings the flowers and the rest. In two hours, alongside other curious people, you’ll make something real with your hands and take it home.

We have some important news to share.

We first want to congratulate Valery on all her success here at Acosta and in the beauty industry. As well as being a super star at the salon, she has been recognized for her color knowledge outside the doors. She has been offered and accepted a position with Oligo (the color line used at Acosta); as a color educator. Don't worry she will still be working full-time behind the chair to service all your hair needs, as she spreads her color knowledge to other stylists.

Valery has also worked her way up the salon as "Lead Stylist". With this promotion will come a small price increase for her experience and her expertise. If you already have an appointment scheduled; these prices won't impact you until your following visit.

ON THAT NOTE: we would like to chat about pricing. We at Acosta have always strived to keep our pricing affordable and fair to serve a wide range of customers. However, with recent upticks in general costs of the industry, and several other factors ; we have had to analyze some of our current pricing.

Josie will have a significant price increase for all feminine (a.k.a women's) and masculine (a.k.a mens) haircutting.

We understand that this may cause some concern and want to ensure you that we will be as fair as possible during this transition. All current prescheduled appointments between now and November 1, will remain at the current price. After November 1, all haircuts will be moved up to the new pricing (listed below). This will only impact color services that include haircuts.

We appreciate your understanding and patience during this time. We want you to know that this decision did not come easy, but felt necessary given the current conditions and the level of expertise Josie has gained in her 23 years of experience behind the chair. LASTLY; Many of you know the salon said goodbye to a couple stylists this year. Goodbyes are alway hard but we wish them the most success and happiness in their new adventures.

HELLO!
Since the salon is building our team; I thought it was a good time to reintroduce myself.

I am Josie Acosta, owner of Acosta Hair Design. I opened the doors of the salon 6 years ago to give this city oasis of Lafayette Square luxury hair services in a boutique style environment.

As we have grown, I aimed to provide an environment for hairstylists to grow personally and professionally. My vision has been to provide support to talented stylists to gain confidence and experience in this industry; all while giving the best client experience we can offer.

As an owner and stylist, I think one of my best qualities is the ability of self reflection.

No human is perfect; we all come with our own bias and history that create perspective. It is this perspective that allows us to maneuver, react, and create in the world. We gain perspective through life experiences and interactions with others.

Having the ability to have strong self reflection allows a person to constantly grow and learn from these life experiences.

Although I have been in the industry for 20+ years I am always learning. One of the things I love about owning a salon and working with others (whether it's staff or clients) is that I am always challenged to continue to grow and learn more about myself.

I am excited to continue to build and learn from my salon team, as well as help propel them into their careers. Owning this salon has been such a blessing and I will always be grateful for every person I have met along the way.
