God’s Glory In You

“And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.” (Exodus 33:18 & 20)

Moses had asked to know the Lord more intimately and to know His ways. The Lord countered with a promise to go with Moses and give him rest (Exodus 33:14). Moses refused to accept less than what he had asked (Exodus 33:15-16). Here, Moses was pressing for more. He wanted to see the Lord’s glory.

What Moses didn’t and couldn’t fully understand because of man’s separation, occasioned by sin, was that no man could see the fullness of God’s glory and live. The Lord was not threatening to kill Moses if he saw Him. Rather, He was explaining that Moses, in his natural human condition, could not survive the unveiled fullness of God’s glory.

The Lord is so awesome that we just can’t handle that much power in these frail, sin tainted bodies. They would be destroyed. It’s comparable to exposing a mold to sunlight—it can’t survive in the light. Likewise, we can’t approach the pure light of God without it killing us. That is essentially the purpose of sickness. Sickness is death insipient.

The new birth changes the game. At salvation, our spirits are “born again”. They become totally new and identical to Christ because the Spirit of Christ has been shed abroad in our hearts (Galatians 4:6 and Romans 8:9). The death that should have occurred in us because of sin, occurred in Christ.

Confession: “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20) The anointing to keep sickness out of my physical body, is now on the inside of me and is at my disposal. Thank you Father for changing the game.
