I couldn’t be more thrilled to be part of the new collection at Stéle. This curated selection of independent perfume with likeminded, artistically driven perfumers features a voice and vision unlike any other. I know I’ll be headed there soon to experience it and I would encourage everyone who can to visit either of their NYC locations to take in this unrivaled experience.

This year was a pretty exciting year for Maher Olfactive, and there’s even more excitement on the way. I released two scents that gave me tingles all over my body because they feel like two things I have always wanted to create but wanted to make sure they fully realized my vision: a perfume based around honey (and the Jesus and Mary Chain) that wasn’t a syrupy gourmand and a vetiver-centric perfume that was a fully realized composition but never lost sight of its main focus. Those were the result of a couple years of work. I used to fall into the trap of always needing something in the pipeline. But now? I can let myself wait for true inspiration to find me. To explore inspiration (and in this case, Ireland), without forcing anything. I didn’t release anything last year. I may not next year (but maybe I will!). This is how I’ve found I do my best work: be more present in my everyday and do what makes my whole body tingle. After over a decade, I am finding the perfect balance of my life and my art.

Vetiver EdP is coming July 31 and today we’re going to talk about it! Also, I will be gone July 19-29 so tomorrow will be the last day of order fulfillment before then (with all orders getting a Vetiver sample). I’ll be writing the more in depth blog on Vetiver for Scent-Notes.com during my downtime so keep your eyes peeled. .

Six years ago on this day I launched Maher Olfactive, and today I’m more excited than ever about what’s in store. Just Like Honey has been one of the most buzzy (pun intended) releases in years, and I’m super excited to introduce Vetiver Eau de Parfum this summer!

Just Like Honey is out now. Inspired by the iconic song by the Jesus and Mary Chain, it has the density of distorted guitars, lush melodies and dripping honey beehives. Notes of honey, to***co, patchouli, myrrh, styrax, labdanum, osmanthus, rose geranium.
