October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 💜

​People often wonder why survivors struggle with trust, or why healing takes time. But unless you’ve lived through it, it’s hard to fathom the reality.
​I know what it’s like to survive the unimaginable—to look in the mirror and see both eyes blackened, to carry the severe physical marks and the handprints left behind on my throat. I know the terror of watching someone's eyes go cold in the middle of severe violence.
​Those scars—both visible and invisible—are part of my journey, but they do not define my future.
​We are not defined by the pain inflicted upon us. We are defined by our survival, our strength, and our refusal to be broken. To every survivor reading this: you are not alone, you are not to blame, and you are stronger than you know.
​This October, we wear purple, we speak up, and we stand together. 💜✊
