The September issue of Peekaboo Magazine NWA honors five incredible local women in healthcare. While I’m not one of those five doctors, I was so honored to be invited to share my story in the same issue.

My feature is about 3D ar**la tattooing after breast reconstruction—a part of recovery many people don’t realize is available or apart of that journey. Being able to offer that final detail to breast cancer survivors here in Northwest Arkansas is one of the most meaningful parts of my work at ACQUA + Ink . 🩷

She came in feeling that her brows looked uneven, especially through the inner brow and one tail. With nano strokes and just the right amount of shading, I placed hair strokes where they were needed to bring the shape into balance while keeping the result soft and true to her natural brows.

As Breast Cancer Awareness Month approaches, we’re thinking of the women in our community whose stories extend far beyond a diagnosis. 🤍

The survivors. The women still in treatment. The families walking beside them. And the surgeons, nurses, and care teams who help guide them through reconstruction and healing.

This is my client’s waistline scar after weightloss surgery. She had several rounds of laser with no change to the purple undertones or texture. That’s where I come in! So, scar revision or scar camouflage? They’re not the same—and knowing which one to use matters.

Inkless scar revision focuses on the scar tissue itself. The goal is to improve texture, soften the appearance of the scar and support healthier-looking skin, and to lighten.

Scar camouflage is different. It uses carefully selected pigment to help blend a healed, lighter, flat scar with the surrounding skin tone.

And sometimes the answer is both. A scar may need revision first, followed by camouflage once the tissue is ready.

The photos shown here are progress photos of my clients journey, not completed results. Scar work takes time, and every scar responds differently based on its age, texture, color and how it has healed.

Knowing when to revise, when to camouflage—and when to leave a scar alone—is just as important as the treatment itself. 🤍

As we age we all lose definition and color in our lips. Lip blush helps bring that back! I love that it’s a similar shade to her natural color but now even throughout and brings back her natural defined borders.
