Do I accept some brow correction/cover-up clients... but turn others away?

I do sometimes decline correction and cover-up cases after reviewing photos. It’s not because I don’t want to help — sometimes the existing work simply doesn’t allow us to create a beautiful, natural result.

Here are some common reasons:

The old pigment is too dark or saturated. New NanoBrow strokes may not show, and adding more pigment can make the brows look even heavier.

The existing brows are very uneven or asymmetrical. We can’t simply add pigment in certain areas to “balance” them if the old pigment is already heavily saturated.

The previous strokes are too thick. Adding NanoBrow strokes on top may require making the brows even thicker, which defeats the purpose of creating natural-looking hair strokes.

You want a lighter color than your existing pigment. A lighter pigment cannot simply cover a much darker pigment. Sometimes the client must be comfortable going darker, or removal/lightening may be needed first.

There is too much residual pigment. Even if the old brows look faded, there may still be enough pigment underneath to interfere with new NanoBrow strokes.

The skin has been through multiple tattoo, removal, or laser procedures. Changes in skin texture can make it difficult to achieve clean, crisp hair strokes.

There simply isn’t enough “canvas” left. Adding more and more pigment can eventually make the brows heavier instead of better.
This is why every correction or cover-up case needs to be evaluated individually.

So if I tell you I’m not able to work over your previous brows, please know I’m not turning you away. I’m trying to protect you from investing more money into a result I don’t believe I can make beautiful.

Sometimes the best correction is to lighten or remove the old pigment first and then start fresh. 🤍

I guess we’re back to our regular schedule! Going to miss our slow mornings + days (and not having to set an alarm!), but there’s something so sweet about knowing your baby is in the BEST hands + so happy to be there 🤍
